During their young and ambitious college years, James and Nadia worked diligently and tirelessly to build an educational foundation that would make them superstars in the business world. It was their shared dream that one day, they would introduce something new and previously unheard of into the business-to-consumer (B2C) market that would mercilessly eradicate all competition, leaving consumers unable to resist their desires to buy their products. It was that ambition that spawned the dream of the Stuff Store during those ripe college years. As co-owner James puts it in his recent autobiography, How I Began to Sell Stuff and Make Money, I was watching very curiously the habits of shoppers in a local retail store one day when I realized, "Hey, these people really want stuff." It wasn't that they had something specific in mind -- some generic category that would immediately lead them to the object of their desire -- but it was that they just wanted more stuff, and wished to wander aimlessly in search for it. That's when the first seed of my Stuff Store dream was planted (p. 20). Indeed, James was on to something. Not long afterwards, he and Nadia shared a class with the world-renowned professor, Dr. Jaesung Sim. Dr. Sim's career had recently launched when he was awarded the Nobel Peace Price for his website to promote world peace, to which many world leaders responded, "Oh, so that's how you do it." He used his skills to mold James and Nadia's ambitions into a growing, professional business strategy, showing them how to use the Internet to integrate a world-wide information system that would reach consumers quickly and efficiently. Dr. Sim himself recently stated, "I knew they were top class business masterminds when they turned in the single most awe-inspiring term project I had ever laid eyes on." Shortly after graduation, James and Nadia received government grants that provided them with the first building blocks for their Stuff Store empire. Within the first year of operation, the Stuff Store reached #1 in Fortune 500 thanks to their insight into the consumer need for stuff and their one-of-a-kind business strategy of selling "stuff no one else would dare put on their shelves." You too can now share a piece of the history. Explore our fine website, and make sure that before you leave, you buy some stuff.
