As most of you know, I'm a huge fan of sport. The sports I take an interest in range from football to tennis, from athletics to curling!

                                                          FOOTBALL

Ok, well I'm a major soccer fan! I am a supporter of Nottingham Forest Football Club, who I have supported since I was born. I have been to a number of Forest matches in my life. Well its actually only between five and ten.
Matches I went to:

1989

  • Forest vs Everton - Simod Cup Final - Forest won 4-3 aet. This game took place at Wembley! Yes folks, that's correct, my first ever soccer match that I watched live was at Wembley! only the best stadium in England, before it was demolished 3-4 years ago! I have a write up of it somewhere.

1995

  • Crusaders vs Forest - Friendly - Forest won 3-0. I met Stuart Pearce and shook his hand! Thanks God. That was a great trip. Shame about the game!
  • Blackburn Rovers vs Forest - Premiership - Blackburn won 7-0. This was a bastard of a game, but I will always remember it, more for the journey there than the actual match. That match was torture for me. My second ever game and we lose 7-0! I cried once it got to 3-0, until the end of the match, asking and pleading to leave because I couldn't stand to watch it. We stayed, and saw them lose 7-0. I had to go back to school on the Monday, to chants of 7UP.

1997

  • Forest vs Tranmere - Div 1 - 2-2 Draw. There were a couple of good goals in this thrilling encounter! I had fun but we never won, that was a disappointment. Oh well, another game on the Tuesday surely had to bring a win.
  • Forest vs West Brom - Div 1 - Forest won 1-0.  4 days later. I can't remember much of this game, but it was the second of a trilogy of 3 games that I saw in a week. Well we won! That's what matters.
  • Reading vs Forest - Div 1 - 3-3 Draw. Ok, so I didn't get to this game, but it was while I was still in England. I went to my cousin's to watch it. It was very disappointing having been 3-1 up, and only drawing. The goalkeeper was sent off when he shouldn't have been, and we came away from the game feeling robbed. This was a sad occasion as it was the same week that Niall's dad died. I wasn't able to go to the funeral because I was in England.

1999

  • St. Pat's Athletic vs Forest - Friendly - 1-1 Draw. Went to Dublin for this one. Good game, and good chips!

2000

  • Forest vs  Sheff Utd - Div 1 - 0-0 Draw. Good to see a game after a while, nice draw as well. Can't remember much about the game.
  • Fulham vs Forest - Div 1 - 1-1 Draw. Nice little trip to London. Good game too. Shame my cousin almost missed it because he jumped off the train. He was only 10. Quite funny. I loved that trip to England.
  • Forest vs Port Vale - Div 1 - Forest won 2-0. Nice win to see an end to the home campaign. That'll do nicely for this season.
  • Forest vs West Brom - Div 1 - Forest won 1-0. Good opening game of the season. Can't remember much about the game, but it was close.
  • Darlington vs Forest - League Cup - 2-2 Draw. Interesting game at a small ground. Forest were lucky to scrape a 2-2 draw. The Pizza Hut dinner is more memorable - pizza, 18 inch, shared, and baked potato skins. mmmmmm.
  • Forest vs Birmingham - Div 1 - Birmingham won 2-1. This was a good game with a late comeback by Forest. Unfortunately it was too late, and Birmingham hung on for the victory.

2001

  • Forest vs Sheff Utd - Div 1 - 1-1 Draw. Opening game was quite a good one. End to end stuff. Bring on  Barnsley!
  • Barnsley vs Forest - Div 1 - Barnsley won 2-1. Forest attempted a late comeback, but a 93rd minute winner for Barnsley meant that Forest went home empty handed.

2003

  • Forest vs Derby - Div 1 - Forest won 3-0. This was a cracking match where I missed all the goals! What a bastard. With a flight at 9am, I should have been there in time for the game, which started at 7:45pm. Luckily (sarcasm) though, my flight got cancelled and I had to get a flight at 7:20pm. So there I was almost in tears at the airport, the game I was going to see, as well as Universities, would be missed. I was going to go straight from airport to place I was staying. The flight landed at 8:25pm, and I was out of the airport at 8:30pm. My cousin's husband met me (which i didnt expect), told me there was a ticket in the envelope he handed me, and £20 for the taxi that is taking me to the City Ground which is waiting just outside. He took my luggage, got me in the taxi , and I was thinking, what the fuck just happened? I arrived at the ground and it was 8:50pm, and the airport was 15 miles away, and we almost crashed on the way to the game. So I go to a steward, where am I meant to go, trying to find my seat, he takes me the wrong way, then we find where I am, he makes a joke, and I'm angry already and say, look, its been a long day! So I meet with dad, Siobhan and Michelle, and the second half has just started. Luckily the 3 goals were already scored - bastards, they could have saved one for me! I did see Derby's goal disallowed, which was great, because Derby are Forest's biggest rivals, kinda like Swatragh vs Slaughtneil, only in the real world. no offence.
  • Forest vs Norwich - Div 1 - Forest won 4-0. Loved this game. Pure magic. 2-0 up at half time. 4-0 at full time. Brilliant, superb all round display. Extra bonus, Dazzy supports Norwich, and it pissed him off big time. His only consolation was the match programme. Well, we footballers like to get stuff for other fans when they live in remote areas. If someone I knew was going to a Forest match, I would expect a programme. Only a friend. I mean, family who go all the time couldn't afford to keep sending them. So anyway this was great.

                                                                TENNIS

Well, I'm a tennis fan too. I love playing tennis, but never get the chance to. I have to get a gang of people together for a game some time. So I support Tim Henman, being the true Brit that I am - that doesn't warrant permission to say fuck off out of our country, brit. or words to that effect. ok? What more can I say about tennis? It rules, and I will go to Wimbledon some day. Maybe not today, or tomorrow, but it will happen!

                                                            athletics

Yep, that's right! I'm also an athletics fan, be it swimming, walking, marathon, high jump, long jump, you name it, I'll watch it! The world championships just finished and they were rockin'! So yeah, I like athletics. Shame Jonathon Edwards just retired, hopefully we'll do better in the Olympics next year, which I am unlikely to be attending.

CRICKET

OH MY HOLY GOD! NOT CRICKET. Yeah, I like cricket, I'm sorry. I hate to admit it! It's class craic playing cricket, but it causes arguments! I enjoy watching cricket, which is probably even sadder! lol. So kill me then, I don't care, it is sport! Go England!!!

 formula 1

This was my world for about 5 years. Then Damon Hill left and my interest deteriorated. He was brilliant. I'm not a Schumacher (Michael) fan, but I admire him for his brilliance in the sport. I really want to get to a Formula 1 Grand Prix at some stage in my life, and I want Juan Pablo Montoya to win the Championship this year!

There are other really good sports, but the one I take a major disliking to is the Horse-racing. I mean, it's rubbish, in my view, but when I'm older, I will probably bet on it! So, will i be a good sports journalist? SAY YES!
