Lung Cancer

Today is .Cancer has been around for ages. Records of cancer can be found in the ancient writings of Egypt and Babylonia. Twenty-four hundred years ago, the Greek Hippocrates gave cancer it's name after the greek word for crab. Scientist today think Hippocrates picked the name cancer because he believed tumors looked like crabs reaching out their claws.Many years have passed since the days of Hippocrates, but we still have much to learn about cancer. An estimated 5.9 million people around the world get cancer each year. In North America, 139,000 people get lung cancer each year, and 129,000 of them will die from it. Sadly, lung cancer is perhaps the most preventable form of cancer.
