Biography of Puff Daddy

Real name Sean Comas was born November 1969 in Harlem. Puff Daddy had an upsetting childhood, as he grew up not knowing his father as he was shot and killed when Puff Daddy was 2 years old. Now in his teens Puff Daddy joined Howard University in Washington D.C. Where he met up with his long term friend Heavy D and asked him if he would sign him up for the record label Heavy D recorded for Up Town Records. Puff Daddy asked him if he could be an intern for the label seven months later Puff Daddy was A&R executive for the company with his sights set high. Puff Daddy aims were set that high that he ended up being an executive producer for Father MC’s 1990 album Fathers Day. However in 1992 Sean was sacked by Up Town Records for being too ambitious. In 1993 he set up his own record label entitled Bad Boy Records where he would become very successful and liked by some people

It took Puff Daddy one year to sign a decent artist. That artist was the Notorious B.I.G and artists such as Faith Evans and The Group 112 were soon to follow. However sadness followed in 1997 with the death of The Notorious B.I.G. This was the year Puff Daddy would zoom to the top of the charts with a moving tribute to The Notorious B.I.G “I’ll Be Missing You” a cover of the Police's 80’s hit “I’ll Be Watching You”. Puff Daddy’s cover version spent a matter of 25 weeks at number one. Puff Daddy has since released three albums back to back. However with fame there is trouble and with Puff Daddy the law is always involved. In 1999 Puff Daddy was arrested on gun charges, but was acquitted in 2000. Also in 1999 Puff Daddy was in court again following a brawl concerning Puff Daddy and Interscope chief executive Steve Stoute, but he was only sentenced that one day in court and anger management guidance.
