Some updates on Paros and Antiparos this time and a special offer from Ikia Studios, which will only be valid on my website :)! For the people that missed the december newsletter there are more special hotel deals.
Some new pictures have been uploaded and some have been replaced at the page of the Antiparos satelite islands of Diplo and Rematonissi. I have also created a new and special page with information and pictures for the naturist beaches of Antiparos.

YOGA ON PAROS.
A friend of mine who lives on a canal in Amsterdam during the wintertime (just like me...) is starting new yoga courses in the prettiest village of the island of Paros this year (Aliki, my favorite). Her name is Oona and she send me the following update on her plans: "Situated at the south of the island Paros, in the fishing village called Aliki, is the yoga studio of Jeanne and Oona, two yoga teachers (mother and daughter) from The Netherlands. During the winter they live and work in Amsterdam, and during the summer they organise 7-days yoga workshops on Paros. The groups are small; maximum ten people. Because of the small groups there is enough personal attention for everybody and therefor the classes are suitable for all levels. Also for people who never tried yoga before. Daily classes in English. Enough time left to enjoy the island. Jeanne was trained in India by mr B.K.S. Iyengar himself, more then 30 years ago, and started teaching from then on. Her daughter Oona started practicing at the same time with her mother and others (at the age of eight) and is teaching as well for the last ten years"

Ikia Studios in the Cycladic island of Paros has the following offer for 2007.
Ikia Studios is situated in my favorite village of Paros, Aliki, which is in the south and close to a whole bunch of nice small beaches. From this cozy village it is a great opportunity to make walks along the coast and discover your own beach, because there is one around every corner, and most of them are empty. Besides that Aliki has its own townbeach with a couple of umbrellas and there are some good tavernas and two supermarkets. There are regular busses to other parts of the island. Ikia Studios is situated not far away from the beach and the restaurants, and the studios and apartments all look super: tastefully decorated, clean and spacious. Ikia is also very inexpensive compared to other places on the island. Some of the apartments are more like houses. It is run by Anna, and she is one of my favorite girls on all the islands, and soooo nice.

NEW HOTELS IN ANTIPAROS.
As I wrote in an earlier email Mike's Place in Antiparos is going to be closed for renovation in 2007, but don't worry, because here are some very nice hotels that you could book instead.
DOLPHIN APARTMENTS, AGIOS GEORGIOS ANTIPAROS
In the south of the island, about 10 kilometers away from the Antiparos Town, in the cozy village of Agios Georgios, you can find the Dolphin Apartments. It is a small complex with 7 apartments that are divided over three buildings. The apartments offer space for 2 to 5 people depending on the apartment. All apartments have a kitchen, airconditioning, bathroom, umbrella's, parking, and they all have a seaview. Agios Georgios has a beautiful large sandbeach on which you can sometimes find the rare beachlily. On the other side of the village there are coves with many other small beaches where you can find a beach of your own. Opposite Agios Georgios you can see two islands of which Despotiko is the largest. On this island escavations have taken place and an ancient sanctuary has been found. From Agios Georgios there are boattrips to the uninhabited island of Despotiko. The village of Agios Georgios offers peace and quiet and there are a couple of very nice beachfront taverna's. There is as good as no traffic, and the beach leading into the water is shallow, so a perfect and safe place for small children as well. ROCCOS STUDIOS, ANTIPAROS TOWN ANTIPAROS
Roccos Studios in Antiparos Town is situated in the port of Antiparos town at a distance of 100 meters from the main street with the restaurants and the shops. Roccos Studios is a recently renovated small complex with 10 studios and apartments (1 or 2 rooms for 2-4 people) overlooking the island of Paros. It is also a good option if you are looking for an economical place to stay in Antiparos Town. For the year 2007 and for the low season special offers from 25 euros per day for 2 people.
