Kriopigi is an old village situated in the hills in the northeast of the Kassandra peninsula, just south of Kallithea (5 kilometers north of Kriopigi). The area of Kriopigi was already inhabited in ancient times and is on the site of the ancient cities of Neapolis and Flegra. The village has about 500 inhabitants and the distance to the airport is about 85 kilometers. The biggest attraction of the village is the beautiful beach which is surrounded by olive groves and woodland. There is also a source of cold water, from which the village takes its name (krio = cold, pigi = source). In the area there are more water sources and so the nature around Kriopigi is very lush. There are many fruit trees and lots of olive oil is produced here, but tourism is also a source of income for the village of Kriopigi.

There is a nice square and there are remnants of an ancient theater in Kriopigi. The old part of the village with its narrow streets and stone houses can be found a little higher on the hill. In the newer part of the village, near the beach, you will find the most accommodations, restaurants and shops. The number of hotels and apartments for rent is quite extensive, and there is also a camping facility in the village. For those people that like a lot of privacy there are also a couple of private villas for rent.

The beach of Kriopigi is called Pigadakia and has received the Blue Flag because the beach and the sea are clean and it's safe to swim. It consists of white sand and is surrounded by beautiful hills covered with pine trees that reach to the beach. There are facilities at the beach of Kriopigi and you can rent sun beds and umbrellas on some parts. It's also possible to practise water sports. In the area there are cafes and tavernas and there are banks and a medical post. On the southern side the beach is at its widest.
