- The village of Karterados on Santorini - Karterados is a beautiful and quiet traditional village that dates back from the 17th century. There are narrow streets with cycladic houses, fruit trees and cave dwellings. The village is packed with beautiful large churches in all colours and shapes. Karterados is situated a little east of the capital Fira. There is not much traffic in Karterados because a lot of the streets are to narrow for cars. Best is to leave your car on a parking on the edge of the village and continue on foot.
