Agistri - The beach island
Agistri (or: Angistri) is on of the Argo-Saronic islands situated in the Gulf of Aegina not far away from Athens. The island is 17 km2 in size and has a population of about 550 people. It is situated west of its larger neighbour the island of Aegina. Agistri is a green island that is covered with pine trees and even though it is not very large there are a good number of beaches including one official naturist beach (Chalikiada in the southeast). Agistri is a popular day-excursion destination for Athenians that want to have clean beaches and clear waters. The island is connected to Piraeus by ferry and is served by these ferries a couple of times each day. All the ferries arrive at the main port of Skala. Agistri is mainly a beach island destination. In Skala you find hotels and taverna's and there is a beach. The eastcoast of the island is easliy the most attractive part of the island. There is also a daily caïque (small wooden boat) from neighbouring Aegina to Agistri, that makes a stop at Skala and then runs along the north coast to Agistri's second port Megalochori/Milos. There is also a bus that starts in Skala and calls on the villages of Megalochori/Milos and the capital Limenaria. Limenaria is an untouristed and quiet village.

Hotels on Agistri Island - Rosy's Little Village
Allthough I haven't visited yet this one, Rosy's Little Village (see pictures above), comes highly recommended by many people on the website of Tripadvisor. It has its own little beach downstairs and it is close to the official naturist beach. This would be my choice of accommodation since I plan to visit the island in the near future.

Rosy's Little Village is a simple attractive retreat, located on the smallest island of the Saronic Islands, Agistri island in Greece. It's an ideal spot for enjoying great nature, solitude, relaxation, and greenery. Agistri is still unspoiled, it has lovely beaches and many secluded coves.

Rosy's Little Village offers the perfect antidote to the stress of city life. The 14 double rooms and 2 family rooms of Rosy's Little Village have been built like a traditional Greek village. All the rooms have balcony and sea view. Recently, they have been renovated to a very comfortable standard and offer full air-conditioning, a small fridge and TV. The accommodation is only 30 metres away from a beautiful rocky beach where you have easy access to shallow and deep clear water, with sand and pebbles sea bed. You can sunbathe on the sunbeds on the different terraces, or you can visit the beautiful pebbly Chalikiada beach which is within walking distance, or the Golden Sandy Beach in the tourist village of Skala.

We have 20 sunbeds, shaded, on the lower plateau of the rocky beach and 5 on the upper plateau. All 25 of them are for the use of our guests free of charge. Rosy's has a traditional boat but made of modern GRP material and a single Latin sail. It's a very sea-worthy boat, that a good sailor would surely enjoy with an adequate wind. Strong wind capacity 3 persons, light wind 2 persons. The use is free of charge, guests who use it a lot can leave a few coins for maintenance at the end of their stay. Besides the sailingboat our facilities include 2 simple but very efficient canoes which our guests can use free of charge.
