Is anyone else ready for 2005? It seems like such a good number that it HAS to be a good year. Man starting tomorrow we'll have to be putting 2005 on everything!
Such a nice strong round number... 2005! Sounds very futuristic! Halfway into the millennium to 2010! Seems like we should have flying cars in 2005!! Or insta meal capsules!! At the very LEAST, we should have our electronic self-guided toilet paper wads we've all been waiting for!
My predictions for 2005
The earth will continue having this unsusual weather trend, ultimately causing a superstorm with an eye that freezes everything in seconds!
Osama Bin Laden will finally be found and caught while hiding in India!
Something MAJOR will happen in Canada, and it won't be a good thing!
Micheal Jackson will be found Guilty!
I would stay away from Pop Tarts if I were you!
Nintendo will fall!
DnB music will rise!

Ah.. new year, new pants. Feels good. Say, what time zone are you in, Mecha? Mine would be the "Central Standard Time" or -6 GMT, if you will.
At any rate, if you haven't reached midnight yet, rest assured, year twenty-oh-five is quite comfy thus far. I say year twenty-oh-five because that's how it should be pronounced, like back in the 90's. We didn't say "It is the year of one thousand, nine hundred and ninety-seven"! And we would walk! No sir, no buses in my day! And we liked it!
For New Year's I just invited a few of my friends over to my place, excluding the two that I live with. Nothing big really. We were gonna set off some fireworks, but the cops have been monitoring our house since like three in the afternoon. Just because we destroyed one measly neighborhood with our antics last year! I swear, those police and their "mortality rate"..
We've been partying like it's 1999 over here! Again! Because we're not behind-the-time losers. Well.. Happy New Yee-ah!

Well I'll tell ya, Xim, I'm on the WEST coast, also commonly referred to as the BEST coast.. heh. We are -8 GMT. Average rainfall here for southern California is 1.36 inches, and we have a year long temperate climate ranging from 66 to 106 degrees farenheit. And our freeway system is the finest in the world. Here there's a Starbucks on every corner, and a palm tree on every street. Crime has seen a 6% decline in the past year. Current surf conditions are 1-2 footers in the southern regions and 4-6 around the northern regions of southern Cali. Ooh, Water temp is a nippy 55 degrees so wear a wetsuit when you go out. California has the 5th largest economy in the world. It also has the 5th highest population in the world as well, following China, Japan, Hong Kong, New York and California. We have a very even racial diversity in the state with 50% of the population being hispanic, and the other half being spanish, but I digress...
I prefer the "K" method. 2K5, 2K0, 2K10, as opposed to your 20-0 method. I just wonder what nickname we're going to give this decade. The singles? the Zeroes? The digits? And what about NEXT decade?? The Teens? The ones?? AGH!!!
I know how you feel, though, about being harrassed, just for causing a little harmless wanton Destruction. Why, I take out 4 or 5 whole districts whenever I want to go across town for something. It's neverending...

And later we can head over to ol' Bill's place and knock back a few brews. I think he's having a party that night, something about a "private honeymoon" or something. I'm sure he'd be glad to see us.
Well, maybe we can have a few drinks. When you go to a party at somebody's house, you shouldn't just automatically assume that the drinks are free. Ask, and ask often.

Ahhh, and now.. I rest here by the pool on the eve of which I enter the secretive, dark and exclusive world of the Elites. I gaze upon the calm ripples that glide across the surface of the water which nervously reflect the shimmering luminance of the somewhat subdued Kyoto moon which hangs low in the sky behind me. A slight breeze blows the willows, causing them to softly wail in their silent lament. The rushing air causes the moisture on my bare face to quickly reach freezing temperatures, thus causing a shudder which momentarily breaks me from my concentration, and I look up... I see... I see MYSELF! But just for a second's pass, during which I notice I am trying to speak.. And then in a startle, the image vanishes. I realize that I have achieved what I have left the warm confines of my do-jo for... I heard myself reciting the "Code of the Elite"!
I quickly rise from my place of rest with a look of armored determination upon my face. I am ready! But all is not over... for there is a slight sound which originates behind me. I quickly whip around while clasping the hilt of my wakizashi. I see nothing... nothing but shadows... As i stand there, quietly awaiting another hint of the uninvited presence, it is not long before I finally see two glowing blue eyes emerge from within those shadows. As the glowing images gaze back at me, a cold, dark voice brazenly breaks the cold silence:
"You... are tense!"
I glare into the eyes as I move my hand towards the hilt of my katana. The voice continues to violate the peaceful tranquility:
"Easy now... you are a Legend. But you are NO Elite!!!"
With that I grasp my sword's hilt and give it a confident pull, exposing the long smooth silver blade. The blade catches the light of the shimmering moon and casts a bright ray of luminescence towards my opponent, thus revealing his form. His eyes suddenly widen and he jumps up, out of the shadows. I fully withdraw my blade and quickly position it just in time to defend his attack! As our two blades lock onto each other, causing blue sparks to fall to the dew moistened grass below, we exchange glares, sizing up each others' strength. A few parries later we leap away from each other, finding that each are unable to best the other. |

My adversary then sheaths his blade, yet I remain poised at the ready. His dark voice once again ravages the serenity with a hollow chuckle.
"You have learned much. yet gained so little." his raspy voice utters in a somewhat condescending tone. "Behold, I am the keeper of the key to a much greater world... The world of the ELITEHOOD!"
Knowing that this is the time I have been waiting for, I whip my sword downward, and then slide its long blade back into my wooden sheath. For I know that this is the time at which I must prepare to deliver the "Code of the Elite".
The shadow speaks for one final time:
"I can give you access to a world where you are respected, where you can come and go as you please, a world where every single word that you utter will be as though it were law, and every man, woman, and child will undergo much pain while striving ever so greatly just to hear every single syllable. You will have great power and influence. There will be nothing that exists that would not be yours for the taking. You have earned the necessary skill and prerequisites to enter Elitehood, you need only recite to me... the "CODE of the ELITE!""
I then looked the shadow straight into his glowing eyes as I concentrated... and then I began to recite:
"I now have 700 karma. Even though this is a stupid gaming board, I will take it upon myself to treat my new status as LIFE! I will flaunt my karma like gold, using it to beat down all lowerclassmen, even legends, with the false confidence that comes with having 700 karma! I will talk as though I know everything in the world, even though I really don't, and I will expect EVERYONE to respect my comments! If they don't, I will remember that I have 700 karma and there is no way they should disrespect me and I will treat them accordingly! For I... am an ELITE 4/|/D I PWNZ'ZoRRzzZ uR MoMZZZZ'D!! 1887'D!!!!!111oneoneoneshiftoneshiftoneshiftone'D"
With that, the shadow finally vanished, leaving a cloud of blue smoke! This mystical mist drifted towards me and I fell unconscious, yet oddly knowing that I have succeeded in my initiation. I felt calm as I layed there, knowing that when I woke up, I will be........ an Elite!
Now how bout some Slip N' Slide!!??'D
