WOWZERS (33): Board List | Topic List | Post New Message | Log Out | Help

I'm sorry. It's the end. I screwed up with scum. I've been here for over 2 and a half years, it just seems fitting to step out tonight. **** happens, Scum was a legend, I like to think I was too. I did just about everything that could be done on these boards, had 4000 post, none in 500 topics, or posting topics. But we all make mistakes, and I have made a few in my day. I'm not saying what I'm doing makes up for anything, it'll just help me get rid of some guilt, and possibly make some of you feel better. I'm still hopeful that scum will rise from the dead, but if he does, he'll never be the same. Now that two of the most known users are gone, it'll be nice to see new blood step up. I'll still be around, lurking in the shadows, but that's about it. Good night, and farewell, and if you ever have a chance, come by my boards. Later all.

Didn't you just post a topic saying you had no remorse? Now you're trying to unload your guilt? You were never a legend. Just a shoddy, illiterate Scum wannabe.

Why? Why did you want to hurt so many innocent people? You aren't getting revenge on gamefaqs, or whatever the hell you and LAF were trying to do, you just banned a shared account used by some normal users, congrats.
Good riddance.

Of course, before this, Obo was suspended twice or so, and CJayC let him off.

Outbreakorn was a very well known Secret Board Hunter, and one of the original possessors of Scum.

LOL..ok, I'm sorry but that's laughable. obo liked to pretend he was known well around secret boards, he went around hunting early on, yes for like 2 months, that was it. He hadn't "hunted" for months. hell, years. Not nearly as much as the rest of us. Then, he would come here and complain about this place not being like it used to be. Like it used to be 2 years ago, when he posted once or twice? obo wasn't even well known, let alone a legend.

The trick is the ego...

If you think you're a legend (quite ironic considering some usernames), but hold Obo in higher regard, and Kinni is honest in saying that Obo wasn't a legend, you also indirectly insult someone who thinks your number of banned accounts and wang size have a direct proportion.

The only "legendary" thing Obo did was get Scum banned. Go him.

I hate to break it to you, but I was a legend. I board hunted from August 2001, to May 2002, when my hard drive crashed, and I was left without a computer for two months. So that two months you said I board hunted was actully 10. I have easily 200-300 messages that are over a year old, in some of the best topics ever made. I have some that are closing in on two years too. And was suspended once, and banned once, both because of KoSed users, and both time Ceej left me off. Obo was never meant to be a sharded account, but I made it that way pretty much after I got my computer back, because I was pretty much done and bored with GFAQs, and kept my account around for novalty and curious reasons. I hardly ever even went to GFAQ, and most post you seen weren't by me. I own the most successful, and longest lasting spin off created, which will be 10 months old on Saturday. Only newbie's boards come close to that, and I still have almost two months on him. I pretty sure almost every mod knows of me, and most know me, as well as Ceej, seeing we have talked several times. If you think people don't know me, maybe that's because I never come here anymore, and all the new users have no idea who I am. I was the old school breed of board hunters, and you can't deny it, so moving on. And Kinni, I had over 1500 post on this board alone at one time, so before you start saying things, make sure you have the facts striaght. I have now, also been directly involved with getting the most known account of all time, barring Ceej, banned. Let it be known that I did not directly ban this, scum, or any account, in fact, have never banned an account. Yes, I gave out Scum's pass to somewhat who wasn't trust worthy. So it was my fault, no doubt. But scum was just an account, and the only one I feel sorry for is CF, beacause it was his creation. So I know this does no good CF, but I'm sorry. The rest of you that are whinning about it, move on. It's done. Go waste your time on something else now. I just came to clear some things up, so I'll see you all around.

You say one thing and then another. It's pretty much pointless to listen to anything you post.

Your first post in this topic states "Scum was a legend" and now you say "scum was just an account".

Of course Scum was an account. We are all ****ing accounts. That doesn't mean just an account. What the hell!?!? Is Buggs Bunny just a rabbit? Is Ferrari just a car?

An account can easily be replaced. Scum can't. Scum was something more than an account. To some person who didn't appreciate Scum, sure it was just an account. The problem is...someone who didn't appreciate Scum has no right to tell the rest of us who did that it was just an account. We don't care about your opinions. It's obvious that you didn't appreciate Scum because you indirectly got it banned.

I said "I like to think that I was too", and the second post was a joke. Don't considered me a legend, so be it. And, we are all just accounts, my point exactly, that Scum being banned won't do anything abnormal in the worl.

I have to agree with Ninja here. If what you're saying was true: "We're all just accounts" - then DarthMaul = TRC and Shadotak = Coolhand. There are people behind all of these accounts who have used them to the end that they are personified by the names they use. Scum was also a very well known account - about as famous as you could get in a community like this one.

I know you didn't think it would end up permenently banned - but rather than trying to rationalize it, you should just be sorry.

Yes, but guess what, I am not just one account, If I get banned (which ALWAYS happens) I just come back, I am still (insert username here) just in a different account. All the old Scum users could just go use Scum 2, or something. Granted, I do indeed understand that the name itself did mean something to people, but I do think they care a bit to much about it.

I understand what you're saying, but that is your claim to fame. The crowd you associate with knows exactly who you are. Even newbies knew of Scum though and board hunting with a well known account is more fun than having everyone comment "who the hell are you *marks for invasion*" after you post on their board.

All human beings assign value to things with no real-world value. What's wrong with that? I don't think it's really possible to care too much. Unless maybe you are obsessed with something...and I don't think anyone here falls into the obsession category.

It's not really any one person's place to tell another what to and what not to care about. That's up to each of us. Just because you don't care about something does mean it's wrong for someone else to care about it. The bottom line is that Scum was an interesting part of the GameFAQs community and now it's gone. Let's just all be sad or ignore the people who want to feel remorse and end it at that...

Looks like we're confused. Here's Shakespeare to the rescue!

"What's in a name? That which we call a rose
By any other word would smell as sweet."

It's just an account, people. Yeah, it was an important account, but there's no reason to be sad. If George W. suddenly changed his name so Cracker Barrel, he would still be an idiot. At the board where I'm from people go through accounts like they're AOL discs, but we still know who is who.

I like that argument how people say it's just an account, yet if I asked them to close theirs they would probably refuse. After all, it's just an account.
