There is an saying, "Greed is good." The Yordan are no exception to this statement. Their entire way of life centers around the concept of amassing as much wealth as possiable. Their society, their government, their armies, their schools even their breeding is done in such a way insure maximum profit.

The Yordan are more greedy than Humans (if that is possiable) they are pitiless in their chase for the Almighty Giin (singular Gii). They have been know to activate entire armadas for the sake of a few hundred Giin. Because labor needs to cost as little as possiable in order to maximize profits, the Yordan keep a number of other peoples, including the Klendak, and even the occasional human (Remember alien abductions?) in slave camps mining Trinite (a mineral similar to iron) or harvesting in the vast farmlands in the Maba System.

The Yordan are lizard like with green skin and forficated tongues. While the young have tails as their ancient ancestors did, once the Yordan reach their Adult stage after about 25 Earth years, their tails fall from their bodies. The Yordan live to about the age of 110 Earth years. When on their hind legs, the adult male Yordan stands about 6 feet (1.8 metres) tall with the female coming in at about 5 foot 6 inches (1.7 metres).

The Yordan have uneasy peace with any species who do not stand in their as far as profits are concerned. They consider the Klendak to be grossly inferior to themselves, as a human would consider a cockroach, and consider the Gedkopan to be only marginally better as they defend their homelands whenever the Yordan try to mine. The Yordan are cautious with the Humans, not for their bodies (which are weak) but for the fact that they are edgy and unpredicable and if there is an invasion they will nuke their own planet leaving it unprofitable.

Although an Empire in name, the Yordan society is actually under an oligarchy with representatives from the largest slave holding families, mining companies and factories running the planets. The fact that the emperor is little more than a symbolic ruler is well known throughout the galaxies. The current Emperor (Chief of State) is Neg dala Orzin dalan Rattu; the current Grand Exaulted Chairman (Head of Government) is Sera dala Rha dalan Jeat. The Yordan occupy about 5 solar systems, the closest one is about 9 kiloparsecs from Pluto.

One, Gerta is the language of the common man used in enternal low level transactions; the other Yintan is the language of government, business and interplanetary relations. Each used the same alphabetic script. Both languages can not be spoken by most humans because it requires a forked tongue.

Yordan names are based on ancestry and clan. They are given a name of their own (First name) this name is followed by dala/dali (son/daughter of) then their father's name, followed by "of" (dalan/dalin) followed by their clan name.
