Mechanical Geninuses International Law
Any robotic beings created must follow Asimov's laws:
First Law: A robot may not injure a human being, or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
Second Law: A robot must obey orders given it by human beings, except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
Third Law: A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.
To be classified as a robot the machine must be programable, must be able to interact with its environment, and must be flexible in the use of its internal programs. Programming a robot to violate one or more of the three laws means:
Life imprisonment, $25,000,000 fine or its equivelent, the confiscation of all robotic equipment, and the prohibiting of engaging in further engineering. - United Nations commitee on Responsable and Ethical Robotic Operations (UNCRERO).

This goes back to a 1999 Supreme Court case, "Hugo vs. National Headlines, Incorporated" in which National Headlines outed Andrew Hugo as Molten Man which resulted in Doctor Martin Grimm (The Grim Reaper) kidnapping his daughter.
