It's the Rules!

Getting a Library Card

Library cards are free of charge.
You must live in the East Baton Rouge Parish.
Bring a parent or legal guardian with you for signature and ID.
You need to have proof of where you live.
You will have to sign your name on the form and library card.

Loan & Renewal Periods

Patrons may renew materials by phone, online, or in person if the item is not on reserve.
Books, magazines, cameras, audio cassettes and CD's check out for 3 weeks, and may be renewed 3 times for a maximum loan period of 12 weeks.
Paintings check out for 6 weeks, and may be renewed 1 time for a maximum loan period of 12 weeks.
All videos and DVD's now check out for 7 days. You may check out a total of 5 of each format. You can now check out 5 CD's and 10 audiocassettes.

Fines

Books, Audiocassettes, Magazines, CD's, Paintings and Cameras are $.05 per day -- a maximum $1.00 per item for children’s materials and $3.00 per item for adult materials.
Videos $1.00 per day -- maximum $5.00 per item.

Patron Responsibilities

If you are age 8 and under an adult or mature teenager must be with you.
Bring your library card when you visit. You must have your card to check out materials.
If you lose your card, let us know. You will be held responsible for all items borrowed on your card up to the time that you notify us.
