Sad
statement from Minister of Home Affairs
Dear Editor,
It is a sad affair since the Minister of
Home Affairs is more interested in the how and who about the taped
conversation allegedly with Commissioner of Police
Felix and PNCR members.

She made it clear that she has every confidence in
this man and she worked well with him. That is good for you, madam,
and you must be thanked for your honesty. However, the Honourable
Minister like most Guyanese knew exactly how the tapes were made and
who made them.
Does the Bel
Air Trio with the arms cache find, along with a
sophisticated computer, ring a bell? Enough said, Madam Minister.
Madam Minister, you and your PPP/C Government should be more
interested in asking one very big question: Why is Felix having so
many conversations with members of PNCR on national security issues?
From all appearances it looks as though Felix has more dealings with
PNCR members on national security concerns than the Government.
Without those tapes no one would ever know what is
taking place with the Police Commissioner and members of the main
opposition PNCR.

Who made those tapes or how those tapes were
obtained must not be the issue. It is to be noted that since this
man took office as Commissioner of Police
there are not only more crimes but more unsolved crimes.
Please, Madam Minister of Home Affairs, do not shove
it down our throats that you have every confidence and you worked
well with this man.
If you do, then you are part and parcel of what is
taking place in Guyana where security is concerned for innocent
Guyanese, who pray day and night for you to get things done in the
name of security for their lives, limbs and property, innocent
Guyanese who pray that they are not next on the list at the hands of
merciless criminals.
If you cannot take care of security for all
peace-loving law-abiding citizens, then who will?
T. King
