Choosing Where to buy your Bunny
It's hard enough choosing the right bunny but it is harder to choose where to get your bunny from. There are a number of different places to get one but it's just a matter of deciding. Read the pro's and cons for each bunny supplier and then you decide.
Rabbit Breeder

- You can read up on how a good a breeder they are
- You can book your bunny
- You can look at the parents to determine pedigree if you want to breed
- A reputable breeder will not have bunnies who have been inbred
- A breeder can help choose what type of bunny is suited to you by personailty
- Breeders generally sell them cheaper
- Babies are held from birth and are used to human contact
- If you have a query at time of purchase or later, a breeder will give you advice; even a year after purchase
- CONS
- Buying froma breeder means a rabbit at a shelter loses a chance of getting a home
Pet Shop
- PRO'S
- Bunnies are ready for purchase
- Bunny mix and items needed are available when bunny is being bought.
- CONS
- You cannot see the parents if you intend to breed
- A high percentage of bunnies are surprise litters and have been inbred between family
- You cannot guarantee you are buying a X breed or not
Shelter
- PRO'S
- You give an unwanted rabbit another chance of a loving home
- 1 rabbit less in hope of a home
- Neutering and Myxomatosis jab is included in the adoption price, it at all adds up cheaper than a free bunny
- CONS
- You cannot be sure if the bunny is inbred
- You cannot know for sure if bunny is a cross breed
- You cannot see the parents
- You cannot breed a rabbit bought from a shelter as they get neutered
