The new year has thus far been quite gracious to SOL Pendulum, who has temporarily reassembled itself after losing Andrew to college for a second time. Don't worry folks, he just may be back for the summer again. You can probably count on it. Since the start of the new year however, we have gotten an email address (see the main page for the link) and we have initated recording with our new recording engineer Adam Jones. We have currently recorded 9 of our songs, but the other two are on the way. Our first album ("Songs About People Who Don't Know Us") will be out within the next couple weeks probably. We also have a good shot at getting gigs at such places as Valentines and Lark Street so we'll keep you updated on that. The President of our fanclub, Martin Toomajian, has also got a SOL Pendulum newsletter on the way. All of this and more will prove to make a great year for SOL Pendulum. Watch out capital region 'cause here we come!!

NEWSFLASH:
Andrew has made the decision to not go back to college. That's right, he's decided to stay here in Troy so SOL Pendulum can become a full-time band!! You lucky devils!
SOL Pendulum, in addition to being a super-hot rock and roll experience for all, works for YAG. When YAG started, SOL Pendulum kind of had to stop. Rehearsals have been rare to really rare, and we managed to play for others only twice. The first was, in fact, another party, this one thrown by Catherine Provost for her graduation. While this was fun and educational, we were not received with gobs of love as we might have liked. One other show occured, last night in fact, when the final YAG performance of "Is There Life After High School" ended and it was cast party time. While we had become slightly rusty and our setup did not allow us the ability to hear what we were playing, we had a lot of fun. Our friends, for the most part, seemed to enjoy us. Andrew determined that while we never meet our own high expectations when playing live, we always manage to beat our audience's low expectations. Hey, whatever works. The summer's about over now, though, and Andrew is heading back to college in two weeks. Again, it is the end. It's been cool for all of us, though, and who knows, maybe we'll get one last spontaneous show in before we must say goodbye.

Today was the very first concert Sol Pendulum had under new management. It was decided roughly around 11:00 am that day that all bands have a 4th of July concert, and Sol Pendulum should not be an exception. So Tom, Greg, and Dave (Andrew was not aware of the concert until much much later) wildly called all the people they new. It turned out that they new a lot less people than they had thought. The concert was held at the Shaver's abode and was to start at 4 o'clock. However, it did not get started until quarter to five. There were about a whopping 10 people in attendance for this spectacular concert, which is record breaking for us so far. Though this was not the ideal performance for Sol Pendulum (Greg played "Burning" in the wrong key and Andrew broke a string in "I'm Sorry go away; our first two real songs) it was a learning experience none the less, and for the first show, it went fairly well. We will work on our stage presence and personas, as well as the location of our drummer to a more included part of the stage, and we will try to make love to the audience in the future. So keep that in mind. The next concert, we will make love to you. Sound will also be dealt with more professionally (meaning an actual sound system with real speakers). Good job clan on concert number one! We're looking forward to recording in the weeks to come. More Sol Pendulum is on the way!!!!

It's been a very busy weekend for this band, and after three days of rehearsal in a row, we're really feeling good. Morale is high, and we're all looking forward to playing out somewhere. We still don't have details on that, though, but as soon as we have a gig, it will be going up on the website. Keep checking back for new things!
