The King’s Men chess club is located in Arad’s market-place. Arad is a small Israeli town in the Negev desert (the wilderness) located on Route 31 between Beersheva and the Dead Sea. The club is run by Eddie (Edwin Beckford), web master/tournament director/bottle washer. The club colors are 'blue & white' the same colors of the Israeli state flag. We’re open 7 days per week from 10:00 until the last chess players decide to go home. We cater to an adult cliental (18 and older). We’ve weekly rated tournaments each Saturday beginning at 10:00, ending at 1300; these are ‘open’ tournaments: meaning that anyone (which include guest and visitors) are welcome to join in. Each Saturday, on or about the Israeli, Russian, and American holidays, we have our regular rated tourneys along with medals, certificates, and prizes. Chess sets and clocks are provided by the club. We have an extensive chess library consisting of over 200 Russian chess books. Other chess books include English, French, German, Hebrew, Romanian, Salvia, and Ukrainian.

Everything is ‘free’: tournaments, coffee, water, snacks, toilet, toilet paper, library privileges, etc.

Free limited use of online computer (e-mail, chess, Skype, etc)

Each December we sponsor the Champion of Arad tournament (closed, RR, 60/60, Arad residence only)

We occasionally visit other chess clubs, and chess related events!

If you live in Israel, fill your car up with your chess playing buddies and pay us a visit some time! If you don't live in The Land and are visiting, consider putting us on your itinerary. If you're doing the Dead Sea and staying in their hotels then you're only 45 minutes away! We can make special arrangements! We can have a special tournament! Day or night!

We are only closed on Yom Kippur.
