Plastic stiffeners for the elevator and rudder control horns
Some of the most critical work so
far has been the
installation of the elevator and rudder control horns.
This involved some precise drilling through the AirCore
material and a pair of 3/8" dowels using a 1/32" drill bit.
A close-up of the control horns (left/rudder, right/elevator) are visible
as viewed through the
rear of the fuselage. The metal push-rods will be driven by
radio-controlled servos
to move the control surfaces left-and-right and up-and-down.
