NOTES ON OBLIVION'S POWERS: If a successful Mental Probe is made, his Illusion and Emotion Control powers jump to a score of 14, as Oblivion uses knowledge of an individual's fears and sins to incapacitate, and eventually subjugate his victim. When he uses this ability, he bathes the person in "Purifying Flame," causing them to confront their past wrongs as Oblivion uses his power. The end result, if the being fails at resistance, is LOYALTY to Oblivion.

Oblivion is the head of the galactic religious movement called "The Purifying Flame." He controls a fleet of starships manned by loyal followers who he has forced to confront their worst fears and "bad" habits, giving what they perceive to be a new start on life. He has almost unlimited resources at his command, and his followers will do anything he wishes.

Oblivion believes that his cause is right. He does not see the inherent evil of forcing others into follow his teachings by manipulating their feelings. He believes that the universe will be better once everyone repents and confronts their evil. To this end, Oblivion seeks out a way to spread his teachings universally. He may have found a way, through the residual powers of the Mind Gem. All he needs is a vessel to contain and direct the vast energies left by that powerful artifact. He believes that an ancient race that used to live on the planet Wiveran millions of years ago had built such a device. His siege of this planet furthers his "Crusade of Fire and Light," as well as furthering his plan to obtain the energies of the Mind Gem. He has come in conflict with "The Green Void" and Lucky Lack, who've been hired by the Wiveran governments to prevent Oblivion's conquest.
