What a unique
idea for a game. Harvest Moon centers on your character running a farm...
Sounds boring right? Well it's not! Everything in-game is from a zelda-like
perspective and you have to get up everyday and work on the farm. Between
your planting, building, and landscaping you might need to run into town.
Maybe you'll meet a pretty girl, maybe you'll get married some day. In
Harvest Moon, it's possible!
Graphics: (7/10) The graphics are eye pleasing
most of the time, but I was impressed by the lighting effects throughout
the day. You don't have any clocks, so you have to determine the time
of day by how it looks outside. Your farm looks different as the seasons
pass. And in the winter you leave foot prints behind you.
Sound: (4/10) Well sound really isn't Harvest
Moon's strong point. Most of the sound in harvest Moon is dedicated to
the droning farm music that repeats every 2 measures.... maybe I'm exaggerating,
but damn it's annoying!
Fun: (8/10) Woohoo! I don't know why, but
Harvest Moon is SO fun. Running a farm in the Harvest Moon world is great!
Every once in a while the townspeople have festivals, I found some gnomes
in my garden, and this one girl gave me her dog! Life is good down on
the farm.
Creativity: (10/10) Harvest Moon wins the
Creativity Award! Making an entire game based on running a farm seems
like a big gamble. But I'm glad the designers managed to get away with
it b/c Harvest Moon rules! I think you just need to try it to understand
the fun.
Multi-Player:
Nah.
Tips and Cheats: Game Winner's cheat
codes.
Errors: I don't think so.
