I'm a huge
fan of the original Castlevania series for Nintendo. The Super Nintendo
follow up does the series justice. You play as Simon Belmont, the whip-wielding
vampire slayer. Your mission is to slay the Vampire Lord Dracula himself.
But to get to him you have to fight your way to his castle and find his
coffin room. Many creatures of darkness await you on your path!
Graphics: (7/10) Great job! The graphics
in Castlevania IV are really good. Everything looks good and there are
some areas that use basic snes 3d programming. The designers did a great
job at make the bosses look cool. They also added in somew cool effects
throughout the game (mist, water splashes, rotation rooms, ect..). This
game looks great!
Sound: (8/10) I've always admired the amount
of work that went into Castlevania IV's music. They took a lot of the
original nes beats and remixed them. The result is haunting tracks that
will remind you of Danny Elfman's work. Really great stuff. Other than
the music there's not much sound. But everything that needs a sound has
one, and they're all well done.
Fun: (7/10) The levels are all very cool
and provide plenty of entertainment. The monsters are all awesome. They
used plenty of weak skeletons, which is very cool. Also, a lot of work
was put into each level's boss. They're almost never a let-down. Bosses
include a skeleton warrior on horseback,
a two-headed dragon, a ghost
knight, death, and Dracula (and a
lot more I didn't mention). What more could you ask for?
Creativity: (7/10) Castlevania
IV was a major step up from all the previous Castlevanias. The designers
did a good job of mixing all material with new. The result is familiar
yet exciting.

Errors:
A few lighting effects went screwy. You probably won't notice anything.
