Letter of Introduction
My name is Brad Johnson. I am currently a graduate student in the Harry S. Truman School of Publics Affairs at the University of Missouri, Columbia where I am pursuing a Master’s in Public Administration. Upon my December 2005 graduation, I plan to relocate to Florida with my fiancée. In Florida I hope to begin a career in public service by obtaining employment in a city or county government.
Through my graduate studies in Public Administration I have focused on Public Management and Local Government. This concentration has given me the opportunity to obtain skills and knowledge in human resources management, financial management, strategic planning, organizational dynamics and public policy. My internship with a local city government has given real life experience in the field to complement my educational background.
In addition to my coursework, I have furthered my education in local government through my membership with the International City/County Management Association (ICMA). I have attended both an ICMA University workshop and the ICMA Annual Conference. These experiences have strengthened my interest and passion for this profession. I have recently become a member of the Florida City and County Management Association (FCCMA) and I look forward to actively participating in this organization.
My personality allows me to connect on a personal level with individuals from all backgrounds. I enjoy interacting with people and serving the public.
