From Richard Zarro's "Holographic Hypnosis Certification -
Basic Training Manual" developed by him to train prospective hypnotherpaists and
other interested in learning the information:
"When people are thinking and talking, they move their eyes in what is known as eye-scanning patterns. These movements appear to be symptomatic of their attempts to gain access to internally stored or internally generated information. The information is encoded in our minds in one or more of the representational systems. When a person "goes inside" to retrieve a memory or create a new thought, he exhibits certain behaviors indicof the representational system he is accessing at the moment.
Eye scanning patterns are the most
easily observable accessing behavior. Descriptions which follow are based
on the patterns usually exhibited by right-handed people. These patterns
are reversed in some left-handed people. Please remember that the
following represents a generalization of human behavior.
A) Looking up and to the right ======== constructed images
B) Looking up and to the left ======== remembered or eidetic imagery
C) Looking level and to the right ===== constructed speech
D) Looking level and to the left ====== remembered sound
E) Looking down and to the right ====== feelings
F) Looking down and to the left ======= Internal dialogue
