From One School Year to the Next

We had order
We had trust
The honor system worked
You wernt watching your back
And you never had to check your pockets twice
The sun feels different
Heavy,
As if the rays are moving slowly too
The grass isnt as green
or nearly as full
The trees had leaves by March
and they didnt look so bare
The sky was a different shade of blue
and the clouds not so thin
You could smell flowers from around the corner
Not the three garbage bins
When someone got takein away in by the Po
It was a big deal
Not like it is now
An every day thing
the freshmen were all chill
and a majority of the students respected each other
Not to mention
We didnt have no fuckin dirty hippy
The Seniors
all went away
and the Jouniors got frendlier
The sophmores got cooler
and the Freshmen stayed the same
The new Freshmen
Most put the hill to shame
and when they get yelled at
Only have themselfs to blame
Ive seen faces
Come and go
Both this year
and the one before
But most have stayed the same
and some Im never gonna remember their names
All this and more from one school year to the next
