The only people who ever called Michael Goldberger, Michael, were his parents and his teachers. The rest of the world calls him Bear. Bear entered the field of social work upon graduating from college, but has simultaneously worked as a managing editor for a local newspaper, a restaurant critic and most notably as a premier film critic. His "Popcorn" column is syndicated in more than 20 newspapers throughout the country. Michael (Bear) has been married to Joanne Accardi for over 30 years. Joanne is a Roselle Park High School English/Media teacher. The couple resides in Westfield with their "track star" daughter, Erin, a Carnegie Mellon University student. Michael drives a Corvette.
