Manfacturer: North American Lamp Company
NALCO was a small manfacturer based in St. Louis, MO and for many years they specialized in the manfacture of carbon filament lamps. Orginally NALCO started as a firm which refilled old burnt out cage filament lamps with new carbon filaments. Shortly after they began manfacturing their own lamps, and NALCO eventually was taken over by Duro-Test Corp, and continued to make carbon filament lamps at least through the late 1970s. Also, NALCO offered some decorative lamps with tungsten filaments during the 1970s, called Nalcobrite...and these were made by Duro-Test as well. Photos of the tungsten decorative lamps will be posted on this website in the near future.
In addition to this 16 cp lamp, they also made 32 cp lamps in larger A-21 envelopes (same size as ordinary 150 watt incandescents), 260 watt heatlamps in G-25 envelopes, T-10 tubulars, candles, flame tips, and G-16 1/2 globes. What intrigues me is that this lamp came with its corrulgated sleeve like the bulbs from the 1900s, and I know this is the orginial sleeve since it came with 3 other unused lamps in the same large box.
