Manfacturer: Fuso Lamp Works
The Michie lamp shown here was made sometime during the 1930s or the 1940s, and is one of the early Japanese made light bulbs exported to the USA. Several traits of this Japanese lamp differ from the US made lamps. Most noticeable is the much more rounded shape than the angular US PS-35 envelope, and this trait is still used on current light bulbs in Japan...I have seen pictures of Japanese 1000 watt PS-52 lamps (new ones) in the more A-like shape. Another strange trait, is that at the time this lamp was manfactured, Japanese lamps used an ancient and expensive exhaust method, similar to the Jaegar exhaust method. It consists of an L shaped exhaust tube rather than the typical straight exhaust tube. Also, the filaments appear to have been welded directly to the lead wires. These lamps are pretty hard to find these days.
