Jesus And The Cross

As they led him away, they laid hold
upon one Simon, a Cyrenian, coming
out of the country, and on him they laid the cross,
that he might bear it after Jesus.
And when they were come to the place which is called
Calvary, there they crucified Him, and the malefactors,
one on the right hand, and the other on the left.
Then saith Jesus, Father forgive them; for they know not what they do.

The Crucifixion

After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished,
that the scripture might be fulfilled,
saith, I thirst. Now there was set a vessel full
of vinegar: and they filled a sponge with vinegar,
and put it upon hyssop, and put it to His mouth.
When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar,
He siad, It is finished and he bowed his
head and gave up the ghost. This was done in
the third hour. And it was about the sixth hour,
and there was darkness over all the earth until
the ninth hour. And, behold, there was a man named
Joseph, a counsellor; and he was a good man, and a
just: This man went unto Pilot, and begged for the
body of Jesus. And he took It down, and wrapped
it in linen, and laid it in a sepulchre that was
hewn in stone, wherein never man before was laid.
