Christmas in Little Towns
Mabel Wilton
Little towns are happiest For they spell the simple things, At Christmas there are carolers, And peace that His birth brings.

There are loving thoughts exchanged While happy faces glow, And children romping gaily In the falling snow.

Little towns are quite content When holidays draw near, With friends and neighbors bearing gifts To those they hold most dear.

Little towns are apt to smile At secret whisperings, For they know each gift that's bought And where folk hide these things.

In little towns the windows shed A mellow light o'er all, For little towns are happiest When Santa comes to call.
