~One Standing~
Just when we reach the year proclaimed to be best,
All true friendships are put to the test.
Everyone you thought was there for you,
Couldn't care less about what you do.
Of all the friends you thought you had,
A small handful never made you mad.
They're the ones that have stood by your side,
The friends you'll have until you've died.
Four years of high school make friendships stronger,
Then that are those that shall exist no longer.
I have found one who'll be there till the end.
I have a friend in which I can depend.
For this girl, I could ask for nothing more.
She never judged me nor treated me poor.
This girl, a friend, I've shared all my secrets.
Her mouth is shut. I know she'll keep it.
She, too, opens up to me.
Friends for life, we were meant to be.
