Like an angel sent from Heaven above,
I waited at the foot of the stairs filling up with love.
When would my queen appear at the top?
I hear her door open and feel my heart stop.
So beautiful in her glistening gown,
She comes toward me slowly, floating down.
A smile that shines and lights up her face,
Takes me to a special place.
A place where time is frozen still,
And I keep her close with all my will.
I place the corsage over her wrist,
This night a chance not to be missed.
I take her out and treat her right.
I hope she’s mine by the end of the night.
We dance and sing the night away,
But I wish I could hold her just one more day.
As I walk her slowly to the door,
I have no idea what’s in store.
She hugs me goodbye and thanks me for the date.
I don’t even have to hope and wait.
She decided to make the move,
And how she did it ever so smooth.
My night ended with pure bliss
When she smiled and gave me that goodnight kiss.
