Once again I’ve jumped to conclusions,
Proving my dreams will just be illusions.
That one true love, will it ever show?
Will I at least get to know?
Where is the one to hold me tight,
And stop my crying in the night.
I want to walk arm in arm,
With the one who will protect me from all harm.
I want to look deep in his eyes,
Eyes as pretty as the star-lit skies.
I want to feel his loving stare.
I need to know that someone will care.
How long will I last?
Has my chance far passed?
To lay with him at the beach,
Is a dream so far out of reach.
I want to go on,
And see early dawn.
I have never seen the sun rise, or seen it set.
I’m not going to give up, at least not just yet.
What is it that God has in store?
What does he have me waiting for?
Frustrated and impatient are my emotions now.
I want to love. I need to know how.
Eventually my day will arrive.
To make it that far, I shall surely strive.
