~Where Our Future Lies~
Gazing at the starlit sky
Of a warm summer night in mid-July,
We lie upon the whitened sands,
The waves peacefully crashing as we hold hands.
The ocean brushes the bottom of our feet.
The tickling of water we happily greet.
Bon fires burn off in the distant beach,
As we share our dreams we're determined to reach.
A star in the sky you promise to me.
Together forever is what we shall be.
Today we begin the rest of our lives.
We are legally bound as husband and wife.
Nothing in the world could I ask for more.
Our love grows strong as the never-ending shore.
A family we have now been made.
My love for you shall never fade.
50 years have come and surely past.
Without a question, our love will last.
You have given me a wonderful marriage.
You've treated me like a queen; white house and carriage.
Today you've taken your last breath.
You had a very peaceful death.
50 years of pure happiness we were able to live.
Nothing more was there for you to give.
Thank you for being my husband and friend.
Our love I shall take to the very end.
Rest in peace my dear love,
For soon I will see you in Heaven above.
