It hasn’t been too long since we first met.
You gave me a feeling impossible to forget.
You’ve always been told how I feel about you.
All of this, I was sure you knew.
You mean the world to me, and that’s a fact.
Sometimes I don’t even know how to act.
I want to tell you with all of my heart,
But where or when would I even start?
You and I together forever someday.
Only a dream in a land miles away.
We’re all given a special someone, a star.
It lies way up in the sky so very far.
A star that seems so out of my reach now.
When can I grasp it? And please tell me how!
God has made a special plan for us.
Maybe he’ll sit next to me in school or on a bus.
All I know is that when I find "the one" for me,
Maybe you and I weren’t destined to be.
So I’ll take this wish and set it free,
Praying that my star will look up and see.
Maybe I am someone’s star in the sky,
And he is praying to the Lord so high.
Waiting for me to fall into his arms,
So he can hold me, love me, and protect me from harm.
We all have a star waiting way up above,
Patiently yearning to fill us with love.
Don’t search to hard, because it can be over looked.
Love isn’t a flight that can just be booked.
Live life day by day,
And that special someone will soon fly your way.
I hope my star is listening to this,
Because being with him is something I won’t want to miss.
