I asked the sky
"Can you tell me about peace?"
But it showed me nothing
except its dazzling blue;
not even a cloud
to provide some clue..

I questioned a tree,
"How can the world find peace?"
A slight breeze stirred,
the tree seemed to say,
"Be kind to the Earth,
and cherish the creatures,
take care of the ground,
the air and the water."

So I asked an angel
that was flying by,
"Please tell me, Sir,
the meaning of Peace?"
"That's a difficult question,
and Peace won't begin,
'till every war has an end,
When man loves one another
like he loves his best friend."
As the angel flew off,
he seemed to say, "Pray to God
for Peace, there's no other way."

I asked a cynic
what he knew about Peace,
He threw up his hands and said,
"Don't ask me...Go ask all the people
that drive all the cars
that line the pockets
of the Energy Czars-
That elect the leaders
that play on the fears--
That's the main reason
for all of these wars."

I finally went to top
of the highest peak,
and asked the wise man
who was living there,
"Sir, can you tell me
how to find Peace?"
He answered, "Peace
is what I had just before
you came on the scene--
Go find your own mountain,
you'll see what I mean."
