¡@ October 22, 2000 (Sunday) from www.lufc.co.uk Leeds to appeal LEEDS are planning an appeal against a High Court judge's decision to bring forward the Crown Court hearing involving Lee Bowyer, Jonathon Woodgate and Tony Hackworth in Hull to January 29.With a number of the Leeds squad expected to be called to give evidence in the case, which was due to be heard on June 6, the Club will struggle to fulfil their fixtures while the case is heard. The three United stars have pleaded not guilty to affray and causing grievous bodily harm with intent in Leeds city centre last January. Chairman Peter Ridsdale said: "We are trying to appeal against the new date. "There are so many witnesses to call that we would have great difficulty in fulfilling our fixtures, but that is not the only reason we would prefer the case to be heard in the summer. "It would help everyone, including the courts. Our legal people are therefore working on trying to get the date changed again." ¡@ ¡@ Previous article: Court venue and place switch Next article: Leeds trio in street fight ¡@ |
