Victim's family fury at gag

SHAHZAD Najeib, 22, brother of Sarfraz Najeib, said last night: "We are still struggling to come to terms with what happened to us that night and the shock of not seeing justice. How can anyone in their right minds make a joke out of violence and racism."

Najeib family lawyer Imran Khan said angrily: "I will be writing to the West Yorkshire police and asking them to investigate. I will be seeking an apology from Mr Boardman.

"In my opinion, this man was not only condoning violence but encouraging it.

"This is damn right offensive in the least and could well be incitement to racial violence."

If the police failed to act, it could be up to an audience member, he said. "It's meaningless to have laws which outlaw racism if they are not going to be enforced," he added.
