Woody will be
England's rock
by Graham Walker
JONATHAN Woodgate has the world at his feet says United team-mate
Lucas Radebe, who is backing Woody to become an England regular.
Woodgate's return to the United team after suffering a broken jaw
last season has been a major boost to the United defence, who can
boast the joint-best defensive record so far this season.
It's not just purely coincidence either, insists Radebe, that
Woodgate has been involved in that significant stat.
"It is like having a new player in the team, having Woody there,"
said Lucas.
"He has always been solid. We knew how much we had missed him, but he
was always looking forward to coming back."
"He is quick and comfortable on the ball, never panics and is not
scared of going forward. He is improving and his confidence is
coming on."
The Chief, United's all time most capped international player,
insists Woody already has the international pedigree - and of course
age on his side - to become a legend on the World stage.
"He has represented England already so there is a bright future ahead
of him.
"He has got a long international career ahead of him, and we be one
fo those few players who are recognised worldwide."
