Today, I will listen and follow my intuition

Myself
This section is about...me...me...me. As I become older, I realized that I become more long-winded. So, do not mind if this section rambles a little. I am entitled to it!
I always laugh at the autobiographical sections of web pages. It seems so...nosy of me to check out a person. But. People just wanna know....so...here goes.
This verse from a favorite song of mine sums up myself just fine:
I'm a bitch, I'm a lover, I'm a child, I'm a mother, I'm a sinner, I'm a saint, and I do not want to change. (lyric from "Bitch")
So much for that...what? More you say? Well then. I will try again. I AM ME. I am a strong, opinionated female, with a strong-willed wonderful child, who has learned that nothing in this world is given to you (except for parents), and that life is what you make of it. I study art, fashion, history, religion, try to keep up on the news, go to school plays, and try to keep my household as organized as possible. I watch A&E on cable, as well as the Discovery Channel, CNN, The BBC, and the History Channel. I study astronomy for fun, and think Albert Einstein is one of the greatest thinkers of all time. I think sociology is fascinating, and watch people to see if sociology really works. I think all people should take government classes as well as economics, and love to debate these topics. Now do you see why I say "learn one new thing every day"? My brain is a muscle like everything else in my body, and I try to keep it as active as possible. I like to solve mind puzzles, as well as cardboard ones, and I love riddles (although...I am not so good at them). I think imagination is the most wonderful Goddess given gift next to intelligence, and encourage my daughter to use hers as much as possible.
More?
I am also a newly practicing witch. I am a Pagan, but I have not decided my denomination if you will. Kinda like...being a Christian, but not knowing if I want to be Baptist, Catholic or Protestant. I have an Italian heritage, and have looked into Stregheria (Italian witchcraft), but I do not know if that is what I want. I have some information on Strega, and will put it online as soon as possible. I do *small* magick right now, but at least I am doing it. I do not have tons of money, although my "pennies from heaven" spell seems to be working, and am keeping my eyes out for most of my magickal equipment. Everyone should have a hobby, and mine is arts and crafts. I can crochet (a little), but I do not think my pentacle should be made of yarn!! I buy candles when necessary, but do not have all the tricks down for using them. I sit and meditate, or do chores and let my mind wander, to let my unconscious mind think of spells. I do not think I will put them on-line however. I think magick is too personal to just toss out over cyberspace. Maybe I will rethink that, but for now...
If you have read anything else of mine, you already know I am a feminist, and NO! That does not mean I think that only women should be involved in the pagan religions or that men should be eradicated from the face of the earth. I just think women should be given the same respect as men. For more...check out my feminism page.
More? Goodness!!
My significant other is also Pagan...but our families do not know, and I do not think I will tell them for QUITE some time. Unfortunately, I live in a very small town (although with a big ten university which does give some diversity), and being a witch....well...I do not want to press my luck. There are other pagans in my area, but they all seem to be of the teenage age, and I would rather meet someone in my age and family bracket. My daughter does not know what Mommy is, but I spend a lot of time removing those foolish and untrue notions about witchcraft that our wonderful boob-toob is spewing at her. When she is a little bit older, I will tell her. For now, she is enjoying the seasons with me. I talk to the Goddess often now. And my husband asks me to talk to the God/ess for him also. He says they like ME more than HIM!! Maybe...maybe not. I do know; however, that I practice a lot more than him. I remember a time when I thought witches were evil creatures of Satan. That was when I was much less informed than I am now. I have another page filled with my advice for other new witches. Remembering what it is like should help me to give fairly good advice. Now, keep in mind...I am not a crone yet, just a mother, and as such, I am giving some motherly advice to those who follow.
Woah, that was all written five years ago...my how time flies. :)
What is it like being me today? I am still opinionated, but have learned how to temper my anger. My daughter knows I and my husband are Pagan, yet has chosen to identify herself as being atheist. It has made for some interesting family discussions. I support her 100% and constantly challange her to keep questioning what is out there. I am sure she is very tired of me pointing out how corporate our TV and government has become, but now she can spot propoganda like an old pro. **sniff** Brings a tear to my eye...
My beliefs have changed again (my prerogative) and I have been focusing more on Athena in my persuit for wisdom. I have finally finished a Batchelor's Degree in General Studies and realized that I want to go on to work on a second degree that will focus on social medicine. Not a doctor, but more of an activist. I also am learning Tai C'hi and FINALLY how meditation is supposed to work. So many changes.....so much time still left to enjoy.
Let us see what happens over the next five years.
