Jesus and Luke

One night as Luke laid down, his prayers all done and said.
He drifted off to sleep, this little sleepy head.
And in his sweet dreams he saw Jesus coming near.
And Jesus whispered softly "Luke would you please come here?"

Luke was not afraid of Jesus or this place.
And you could see a smile light up his precious face.
He was soon beside Jesus, the man his Mom spoke often of.
And Luke soon felt surrounded by an awesome kind of love.

"Luke I know you have some questions for me here today."
"I know because I listen to you often as you pray."
Luke looked up at Jesus and asked "Why did my Mommy go away?"
"And Jesus, tell me where is my Mommy at today?"

"Luke your Mommy is in Heaven here with me."
"And one day you will be with her for all eternity."
"She didn't want to leave you, she loved you very much"
"Though she isn't near you, her heart you'll always touch"

"But Jesus I miss her so much, why can't I be here too?"
"I want my Mommy back, I really, really do."
Luke then hugged Jesus near and one small teardrop fell.
Whether it came from Luke or Jesus, you really couldn't tell!

"Luke, your Mommy went away because she was in pain."
"But I promise you son you will see her again"
"And your Grandma will be there for you each and every day."
"And I'll always be here to listen to you as you pray"

"And your Mommy is here today though you cannot see her face."
"And your memory from her heart will never be erased!."
Luke then said "Thank you Jesus for making me feel a little better today."
"And please tell my Mommy I am sad she went away"

Jesus smiled and Luke hugged him oh so near.
"You're right Jesus, I can feel my Mommy here!"
Luke then awoke with a smile on his face and no more fears.
And though he didn't see her, his Mommy wiped away her tears.
