Vicki Zhao- A very shy girl, she just came to a new high school, in year 12 this year, her long lost friend is Ruby, she likes to wear baggy pants, big T-shirs, a total tomboy, she is alittle nerdy, wears thick rimmed glasses, loves to read books, doesn't like to be loud, she hangs around with Ruby, when she's around people she is shy and does't talk much, but when she is at home she is quite loud. She's extremely beautiful but she never shows it.
Ruby Lin- A beautiful girl, she is the most popular girl at school, she is best friends with Vicki, unlike Vicki she is always dressed in fashion, her hair is like commercial hair, dispite the fact that she is popular she has a soft kind heart, her 'group' is enemies with Jimmy's 'group'. She is outgoing and fun to hang around with. Many admirers.
Alec Su- A very shy kinda guy, he hangs around with Jimmy, he likes to wear button up shirts and baggy pants, he is also kinda of nerdy, wears thick rimmed glasses, he also loves to read books, he's not a social guy likes to stay at home more. He's a really good looking guy but he does't show it.
Jimmy Lin- A great looking guy, he is the most popular guy at school, alot of girls like him. He is best friends with Alec, he is enemies with Ruby's group, he likes to have his hair spiked up. He is a really nice guy.
She brushed her hair roughly with a plastic brush. She grabbed hold of the purple headband and quickly combed it into her hair. She then got her purple hair tie and tied her hair back with it. She put on long cargo pants and a big T-shirt. Her face void of any make up, she grabbed her school bag and walked down stairs. She grabbed a piece of bread and walked to the car.'Mum, hurry I'll be late' Vicki said with half of the bread in her mouth. Her mum got into the car and they drove off. A big old building with red bricks appeared in sight. 'Vicki, this is your new high School' Vicki's mum said as they drove to the Car park. Vicki just nodded shyly and walked out already feeling embarrassed by the other people looking at her. Well she was the new girl.
She looked at the time 8:15am 'Just need to wait another 15 minutes till the first period starts. Vicki sat on the nearest bench by herself, everyone at the school had a friend with them. 'I'm alone' Vicki thought to herself but she was used to being a loner. A group of talkative girls walked past her. The leader of the girls was a really pretty girl. The pretty girl looked at Vicki sitting alone. She was a nice girl, popular, pretty, surrounded by guys; what a girl could dream of becoming.
'Are you new here?' Ruby asked Vicki who just nodded looking around at all the girls of this 'bunch' who were staring at her. 'I'm Ruby' she said. Vicki didn't say anything she was too embarrassed. 'What's your name?' Ruby asked asking the other girls to leave. 'My name is Vicki Zhao'. Vicki dropped the bracelet that she had been holding. Ruby picked it up…it looked kind of familiar. 'Vicki Zhao? Friendship bracelet? New Girl?' Ruby thought to herself.
'Vicki! I'm Ruby Lin!' Ruby said happily hoping that Vicki would remember
her. 'Ruby? [gasp] XinRu!' Vicki said softly not too loud. 'Yes! I remembered
you from the friendship bracelet you dropped' Ruby said giving Vicki back her
bracelet as she retrieved the other matching bracelet from her pocket. 'I
thought that I'd never ever see you again' Ruby said. Vicki looked at Ruby and
remembered back

They knew each other since their birth. They grew up together and were the
bestest of friends. 'Ruby, here's one half of the friendship bracelet and I'll
keep the other half! So we can be friends for ever' Said the seven year old
Vicki. seven year old Ruby nodded happily. But soon… 'Ruby! My mum is so mean'
Vicki cried. 'what's wrong?' Ruby said as she comforted Vicki. 'Mum and Dad want
to go to Canada to live then I won't be able to see you anymore' Vicki cried.
*********(End of Flash Back)***************
'I'm so happy to see again' Ruby cried. Vicki looked at Ruby, dressed in the latest fashion, great body, beautiful face, wonderful hair, adored by everyone, so popular. Ruby looked at Vicki she sure has changed, hair all tied back, big baggy pants, t-shirts, no fashion…tomboy and very shy. 'Hey! You can hand around with me and my friends' Ruby offered. Vicki really didn't want to but she couldn't reject an offer from her best friend.
Ruby introduced Vicki to all her friends. Vicki just stood there like a pot plant and just soaked up all the info that Ruby was telling her. Vicki hated to be shy but that's the way she was. Ruby lead her up to her classroom, Vicki just tagged behind the rest of the girls. Vicki's seat was allocated next to Ruby's seat…at least that was good so far. 'Vicki I must tell you something…' Ruby said almost serious. 'What is it?' Vicki said 'Being part of this group, we have one great enemy' Ruby said. Vicki stumbled 'now we have an enemy, should stay with this group or not?' Vicki thought to herself.
'Our greatest enemy is the boy's group led by Jimmy Lin' Ruby said. 'Boys! Last thing in my life I need' Vicki mumbled to herself
Led by Jimmy Lin. Vicki stared at Ruby then at Jimmy then back at Ruby. 'Don't need to talk to them or anything' Ruby said loud so that the other group could hear. 'Ruby Lin, don't frighten the new girl with your looks…oh yea…that's why you wear make up to cover up your ugly looks' Jimmy shot back.
'Call me ugly! Why don't you say that for your self?' Ruby proudly answered back. 'Well a witch like you shouldn't be walking around the streets you could scare somebody you know? You half Wit' Jimmy criticized. 'Half a brain is better than none' Ruby snapped back.
In the school, Jimmy and Ruby were known to hate each other and even quarrel.
Vicki pulled Ruby's arm so that they would walk the other way to end this quarrel. 'Vicki! Why did you pull me away I was winning the fight' Ruby asked. 'Please don't fight anymore what if the teachers see you or something' Vicki answered.
Vicki took her glasses off and wiped the lenses clean with her T-shirt she put them back on. The bell rang and everyone proceeded to their class. 'Well at least that fight was over and done with' Vicki thought silently to herself. As she and Ruby walked into the room, Vicki got a hell of a shock.
There in the far corner sat Jimmy with a couple of boys from his group. 'Oh no! Ruby and Jimmy in the same class is defiantly not a good thing' Vicki thought to herself as she just sat next to Ruby quietly. 'Vicki you are so unlucky to be in the same class as Jimmy what bad luck' Ruby said out aloud so that Jimmy could hear.
'Can't cope on her own, so she needs a new friend isn't that right Alec' Jimmy said as he stuck his nose in the air. Upon hearing a new name Vicki looked at Alec, a boy who sat next to Jimmy which thick rimmed glasses like hers. Alec nodded which his face glued to a book he was reading. 'Ooo…I want to punch that Jimmy in the face and then we'll see who can stick their nose into the air then' Ruby said giving a little giggle.
Vicki gave her best fake smile then look down at the table again. 'what would happen if the teacher made you and Jimmy go together in some partner work?' Vicki asked. 'They would never because every one knows that we don't mix well' Ruby replied.
'oh' Vicki sighed. The principal walked into the Classroom to make an announcement. 'This is your new teacher Mrs Eldo' the Principal said. Everyone gave a small clap. After the principal left, Mrs Eldo walked up to her desk. 'Since I'm new here, I want everyone to get into a partner group and do small assignment together' Mrs Eldo suggested as she took out her roster.
She partnered everyone…Vicki with Alec, Ruby with Jimmy. Everyone gave a gasp when Ruby and Jimmy got put together. But the teacher didn't look the least she cared about their little fight. Vicki had to move over to Alec's table and sit there for the assignment. Alec looked at Vicki and look at the table. At the same time both of them fiddled with their glasses.
'So um….' Vicki tried to start a conversation. 'What do we do?' Alec asked. 'I don't know' Vicki said. 'I don't know either' Alec replied. 'Gosh this Alec isn't a good conversation beginner' Vicki thought to herself.
Both of them just sat in silence looking at the table. As the teacher walked out of the room to get some paper someone jumped onto a table
'Tonight we are going to have a competition between Ruby and Jimmy - A singing contest'. Everyone clapped. The day finally ended, Ruby and Vicki both walked home together after realising that their houses were not that far from each other after all.
'Vicki I'll come and pick you up at 7:45pm sharp tonight' Ruby said quickly before turning into the pathway of her house. 'No wait!' Vicki said but Ruby had disappeared.
'I don't want to go' Vicki said quietly.
Vicki ran to the door and gasped. 'Wow! We have to get dressed up for this?' Vicki asked looking at what she wore. Vicki wore just some old jeans and a big shirt saying save the world.
'Of course! Is that what you are wearing?' Ruby asked Vicki. Vicki nodded and looked at her own clothing 'it's comfortable' Vicki exclaimed. 'Alright then' Ruby hesitantly said as she closed the door behind Vicki. They got into the car and drove off.
'When I sing remember to clap scream yell and give it whatever you've got okay! That'll teach that Jimmy to shut up' Ruby said loving her own plan. As they parked at the door of the karaoki place, Jimmy's car also parked behind Ruby's Car.
Alec got out of the car in the usual fashion sense of his. Jimmy also stepped out in the coolest fashion. Both Jimmy and Ruby walked up to the door of the Karaoki and stuck their nose in the air. Vicki and Alec walked silently behind them, not talking to each other. '…of love' Ruby's voice trailed off after the song ended, everybody clapped loudly. Vicki clapped but not as loud as Ruby had told her too.
No one could decide who out of Ruby and Jimmy was the better singer. An argument arose from them both, just about the smallest of things. Vicki didn't want to be in the fight nor did she even want to come to this, she simply stood up and walked out of the room hoping no one noticed her. She stepped out into the frosty cold night, although it was cold she liked it.
She walked over to a bench and sat there not noticing there was another lonely person sitting there. She started to sing the song that Ruby had just sung, Vicki's voice was so angelic. It was clear that her voice would've been the best out of all tonight.
Alec turned around to see who that beautiful voice belonged to. 'Vicki..Zhao?' Alec said to himself. Upon hearing her name Vicki turned around to face Alec. 'Why are you here? Aren't you supposed to be in there with the others?' Vicki asked curiously. Alec shrugged 'What about you?' Vicki thought for a while 'I just want to get away from all the noise up there'. Vicki smiled and Alec smiled back( a heart stopping moment..hahah).
They instantly became good friends. They talked and talked like old friends do. Time flew past pretty quickly as if no more than 4 mins had past. Ruby, Jimmy and the rest could be heard walking down the stairs. They spotted Vicki and Alec sitting on the bench. 'Vicki let's go…don't get so close to 'them'' Ruby smirked as she pulled Vicki away. 'Mate, don't talk to them' Jimmy said as he slapped Alec on the back.
When Vicki got home she sat at her dressing table with had hardly ever been used as she didn't like make up. She sat there looking at herself through the mirror. 'Alec was a nice guy' Vicki said to herself. She could see his handsome face swirling around her head. She snapped out of her dream…. 'nonono…we're just good friends'.
At Alec's room, Alec sat in the big Bean Bag in his room. 'Vicki … maybe' he said to himself then slapped himself on the forehead. 'Just friends…' Alec whispered to himself as he smiled. Just a FRIENDSHIP.
Vicki took out her Media assignment, ready to just dump on the teachers table. As she walked with her hands full of books *dong* she walked into the schools flag pole making a loud noise. She was stood there holding the books that didn’t drop and rubbing her head at the same time.
Another *dong* was heard. She looked up and there opposite her was another person with glasses also rubbing his head. ‘Alec?’ Vicki said softly already too embarrassed because she walked into a pole. Alec looked up and positioned his glasses again to get a better look.
‘Hahahaha….I guess we’re both been given bad luck today’ Vicki softly said as well as giving a little giggle. ‘Yea……imagine getting hit on the same pole at the same time, same day, same school’ Alec managed to say. Both of them picked up their books and papers.
They walked to their classroom together talking about anything that came to their minds. The loud speaker made a buzz then a zapping noise finally a voice spoke out 'Students! We will be holding a audition for our upcoming play Seven Brides for Seven Brothers If anyone would like to audition for a part please meet at the drama block at Lunch’ the principal announced clearly and convincingly.
Ruby nudged Vicki in the ribs.
‘Ei! Are you going to try out the audition with me?’ Ruby asked. ‘No! I don’t want to be in the play’ Vicki answered not wanting to have to act in front of lots of people. ‘Come on Vicki! Just come and try out with me’ Ruby suggested acting innocent. Vicki couldn’t say no so she just had to go.
********At Jimmy’s side*********
‘Alec come on man…..just try’ Jimmy said his life dream to be the leading male actor. Alec gave a quick nod indicating a no. ‘Look even that Ruby and Ruby’s friend is gonna try the audition’ Jimmy said wanting Ruby to get the worse part in the play. ‘Even Vicki’s trying for it?’ Alec asked himself. ‘So … what’s it gonna be man?’ Jimmy asked impatiently. ‘Alright’ Alec said wondering if he made the right decision or not.

Lunch time came and loads of people waited outside the main drama room. All wanting to take part in the upcoming play ‘Seven Brides for Seven Brothers’. Ruby and Vicki registered at waited at the door for the teachers to open them. Two people stepped in front of them in the line. It was Jimmy and Alec.
‘What!?! You can’t just step in front of people’ Ruby exclaimed. Jimmy turned around ‘I know it’s not right to step in front of people but in your instance it’s okay’ Jimmy smirked. Ruby put her fist up and calmed down. ‘I don’t talk to idiots’ Ruby said as she looked around. As they got to the audition room a teacher stopped them ‘You have to be in a pair Boy Girl’ the teacher said.
‘What? But…we aren’t’ Ruby said. ‘You (Ruby) with erm….You (Jimmy) and You (Vicki) with You (Alec)’ the teacher said as she organised them into pairs. ‘But Miss you can’t do this you….’ Ruby said then she stopped and sighed.
This was their new homeroom teacher Mrs Eldo and she was the one who didn’t at the least care about the Ruby hates Jimmy thing. Vicki and Alec were a little happy as at least they both we’re friends now.
