Chapter 14
Chapter 14

The next few days were depressing. I felt like a horrible monster. I had blocked the persons I loved away from me. I stopped talking to Oscar and started avoiding him. Lately Belle was getting on my nerves also. I know now that she was only trying to help me, but it just made me madder.
One night while Belle was out and I had the whole house to myself I began thinking about everything. What was I doing? I was ruining my life? I started thinking about the baby. I knew the baby would need a father, but I didn't want to tell Nick. I felt worse. I started getting mad at myself and I became frustraded trying to find a solution to my problem: "Should I tell Nick or continue what I was doing?" After hours of almost ripping out my hair. I came up with a solution. I was going to break up with Oscar. It wasn't the same anymore and it sure didn't feel the same way it had before.
Then after breaking up with him, I would just take it day by day. Breaking up with Oscar would give me the freedom I wished for. So I cleared my schedule and I planned to break up with him tonight. The sooner the better, right? Wrong. Dead wrong.
Belle came home tired from work and I greeted her with a new me. She smiled at my happiness but went straight to her room. I didn't mind. I knew she was tired and I had to give her a chance. It was barely 4:00. I was planning to leave the house at 7:00.
The day seemed long. I fell asleep for 2 hours which didn't help at all. Because it seemed as if I had fallen asleep for 2 days. Belle was asleep in her room and I think she had a bad case of the flu. I need to change and leave a note for Belle before I left. So I took a shower and changed, putting on a warm red coat.
Next I began to write the note for Belle: "Hey, I'm sorry I had to leave all of the sudden, but I needed to go to Oscar's. I didn't want to wake you up since I knew you were tired. Well, Anyways I'm going to go walking. Don't worry about anything. I know how to take care of myself. I'll be back around 8:30. If I'm not back by then call my cell number ok? Well I gotta go, bye! Love, Sophie"
I grabbed my bag and the cell phone. I stepped outside where it was a little bit chilly, but it didn't really matter because I was wearing a coat.
I began walking down the street. The sun was setting already. The sky was pink, purple, and endless. I could feel my nose beging to get cold. The streets started to light up. Children that were playing on the street began going home. People walked past me rapidly.
I looked at some of the faces that walked past me. They were unfamiliar, but somehow I felt connected to them. I knew each of them might be having problems. Maybe not as bad as mine, or maybe worse.
A small child about 4 or 5 years old stood under a tree crying. I stepped over next to him. He stopped crying for a minute to look up at me.
I smiled down at him, "What's wrong?" I asked him.
He pointed up to the tree with a puppy face, "My plane got stuck on that branch."
I looked back up at the tree to find an orange plane stuck there between the branches. I glanced down at the child to find him there waiting for me to take action. His eyes followed me as I reached up into the gnarled branches to remove his childhood toy. With a pull the plane became free into my hand. I handed it to him.
His face lit up immediately as if I had just handed him the biggest candy ever. He thanked me and ran home. Feeling happy I continued my walk. I stopped at my favorite store to buy myself a juice. They didn't have orange juice so I had to buy an apple one. It was refreshing and good. After barely taking a sip. The baby awoke and started moving around. I touched my stomach softly to feel her, but she stopped and settled down.
I was almost at Oscar's I just had one more block to go. Once I turned the corner of that block I prepared myself for the worse. His apartment was on the second floor. I tried the elevator, but it wasn't working. So, I headed to the stairs and started walking up.
At the top of the stairs a familiar face surprised me. It was the woman that had been in bed with Oscar. She took a step back, surprised to see me. An evil grin spread on her face.
"Who banged you up?" she asked half laughing.
"That is of no importance to you," I replied trying to get past her.
She blocked my way, "Gee, I hope it wasn't Oscar, because you know if it was... he won't be able to take care of it."
     "Oh, really, and why's that?"
"Because after he gets another taste of me your ass will be on the street."
"What makes you think that?" I asked her.
"I have my reasons. Besides honey, where do you think Oscar's been most of his time?"
I was shocked, but I didn't want to say anthing and make myself look stupid. I know she was trying to make me mad and jealous, and to her success it was working.
"Oh, poor little girl you don't know do you?"
My eyes stung with hot tears. I stared into her cold eyes. She was smiling at me, laughing at me with her stupid grin.
Again, I tried to get passed her, but this time she pushed me back. I pushed her back away from me. She stumbled but regained her position. She gave me a mean look and pushed me hard. I felt myself at the edge of the stairs. Now, I was falling hard down the stairs. My head hitting almost every step. The last thing I remember seeing is Oscar running towards me.
                                            ****
I don't know if it really happened or if it was all a dream, but a weird thing happened to me. I saw Nick standing above me holding my hand. I was laying down in pain and everything was bright. His eyes burned into mine looking for answers. Then Oscar was on the other side saying something to Nick.
I felt myself being lifted up on to a higher bed. Belle came over and kissed my forehead and squeezed my hand. She seemed to be telling me something, but I couldn't hear her.
I felt my eyes closing, and I was really tired. So, I gave into my sleep, not knowing where I was, what I was doing there, or anything that had happened. I felt my head spinning and my side was hurting horribly, and then all of the sudden it all faded away, and I felt at peace.

ATTENTION: Hi everyone, as soon as I finish this story I will begin another. Unfortunately it won't be Backstreet Boy related, but it will be as interesting!!!
