Background

Talpa formed the Dynasty by the power of his armor. With his new found power he waged his first war on the mortal world. Talpa was however opposed by several warlords from the Nether World who believed him to be too ambitious. Lord Saber Strike is the most notable of Talpa's opposition. Talpa, however, quickly overcame this setback.

One thousand years ago Talpa opened the gateway to the mortal world. He was faced with the armies of feudal Japan which he easily slaughtered. The Ancient then confronted him and was able to banish him back to the Nether World.

Talpa's soulless armor remained behind, and he vowed that by its power he would return. So the Ancient split the armor into 9 separate armors, in order to diffuse its power.

Approximately Four hundred years ago Talpa began recruiting his Dark Warlords from the mortal world. He regained control of 4 of the armors by corrupting their wearers. He also kidnapped a member of the Ancient's clan and began her training. During her kidnaping Talpa killed off all of the Ancient's clan except for one.

In the late 1990s Talpa attacked the mortal world. He was however met with stiff opposition from the 5 Ronin Warriors. He lost control of his warrior Anubis. In a decisive battle he was able to kill the Ancient that had thwarted him so long ago. He eventually regained all 9 of the Armors for a brief time. Ryo with the help of the Spirit of the Ancient broke free from Talpa and was able to call upon the powers of all of the Ronin armors to form the Armor of Inferno. With this armor Ryo was able to drive Talpa back to the Nether World.

Talpa was not done with his attack on the mortal world though. His remaining Warlords captured 3 of the Ronin Warriors. He held them prisoner and would later use their power to create a sword, which was given to Dara so that he could defeat Ryo and Rowen.

Talpa then sent Lady Kayura, the member of the Ancient's clan that he had kidnapped and trained so long ago to take care of the Ryo and Rowen (who were the 2 remaining Ronins). With the help of Anubis, who took on the role of the Ancient, they were able to defeat Lady Kayura.

Ryo and Rowen were then able to travel to the Nether World to free their companions. Talpa was not done yet. He now sought to control the White Armor of Inferno. He continued to send Lady Kayura to try to capture the remaining Ronins. He called upon the aids of the dark priest, Badamon, to assist in the acquisition of the White Armor.

Finally with the help of Lady Kayura, then possessed by Badamon, Talpa captured all 9 Armors and used them to begin the destruction of the boundary between the mortal world and the Nether World. The power of the Jewel of Life enabled the Ronin's and converted warlords to break free of Talpa's prison. By now Talpa's empire was crumbling. He lost Anubis a long time ago. When the other three Dark Warlords realized that Talpa was only using them, the finally turned against him. Anubis was able to break Badamon's control over Kayura. With Talpa's forces were now depleted, he made his last ditch effort to take the Mortal World.

Talpa's breach between dimensions was finally large enough. He entered the Mortal World once more and began to take control of the people there. In the final show down between Ryo and Talpa, Ryo was able to defeat Talpa by projecting the Armor of Inferno on to him and using the power of good stored in it to hold down Talpa. The other 4 Ronins then concentrated their full power and attacked Talpa. Finally the Jewel of Life reacted to the battle and the combine attack destroyed Talpa.

Powers and Abilities

Talpa's powers are many indeed. He not only has all of the resources of the Dynasty at his command but he has his own awesome array of powers as well.

Talpa feeds off of the negative emotions of the Mortal World. The more suffering and despair present in this world the stronger he grows. This energy caused him to become a giant when he attacked the Mortal world in the 1990s.

Being a demon warlord Talpa is skilled at martial arts and the use of most forms of weapons. He also has many mystical powers available to him. Some of these include control over the elements and clairvoyance and clairaudience, the ability to see and hear what transpires elsewhere on the planet. He has also demonstrated powerful telekinesis (when he dropped an office building on the Ronin).

Perhaps Talpa's most devastating power is his ability to seize control of mortal technology. So far no piece of technology has been able to resist Talpa's control. He has taken control of cars, monorails, military weapons, etc. He will frequently turn this technology against its human wielders.

Talpa's powers do not end there. He has an almost complete understanding of the 9 Armors. He has over 1000 years of experience with magic and the supernatural. He has many contacts and resources. It is also hinted at that he has a large (but not seen in the show) army of humans who have given themselves over to his power.
