Trivia for 5/13
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Answer for 5/12:
Mary Roberts Rinehart's 1930 mystery novel The Door is the book that is attributed with having the first appearance of what now-cliché occurrence?
"The butler did it!" The butler was the murderer, even if that phrase wasn't used in the book itself. Some writers and fans of detective stories have said that it is a lazy writer who blames the deed on the butler, but others say that the butler is in a unique position to have unmonitored access to other members of the household. In S.S. Van Dine's "Twenty Rules for Writing Detective Stories," his Rule #11 states: "A servant must not be chosen by the author as the culprit... It is a too easy solution."
39 players answered correctly.
Trivia for 5/11
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Answer for 5/10:

On the game show Jeopardy!, after the final commercial break, the Final Jeopardy! clue is revealed and read by the host. The lights are dimmed, the "Think!" music plays in the background, and the contestants have how many seconds to write their response?

They have 30 seconds to write a response, again phrased in the form of a question. Since 1984, contestants use a light pen to write down their Final Jeopardy! wager and response. Contestants are also provided with a pen and index card in the event that the light pen malfunctions. The light pen is automatically turned off at the conclusion of the 30-second period. A keyboard with Braille keys is provided to visually impaired contestants.

40 players answered correctly.
