Look into my eyes - you will see
What you mean to me
Search your heart - search your soul
And when you find me there you'll search no more
Don't tell me it's not worth tryin' for
You can't tell me it's not worth dyin' for
You know it's true
Everything I do - I do it for you
They sat side by side on the abandoned beach at dusk. The sky was an amazing, picturesque sceen. Shades of light pinks and soft purples painted it beautifully. The sun was fading over the horizon and a soft fall breeze blew lightly. But as the two of them sat there that night they were feeling none of the serenity and peacefulness of the beach.
Nick looked over at her and watched as the wind weaved its fingers through Christine's long, dark hair. Her emerald eyes stared out at the greenish blue Florida ocean as the waves crashed over eachother. A single tear trickled down her flawless, creamy skin. She bit down on her full, pink lip as she let the tear escape down her face.
"I love you,"he whispered almost inaudibly to her. His words were lost in the wind and Christine continued to stare straight ahead.
"I love you,"Nick repeated, louder this time. She turned her stunning face to face him and he could see that her other cheek was tearstained as well.
"More lies?"she said staring deep into his crystal blue eyes as if to challenge Nick to look away. He held her stare.
"No...I know I was an asshole Chris. I know I hurt you and you're probably never going to forgive me but I love you. I know I never told you that and I know I probably should have because you never knew did you Chrissy? You never knew that you were my life and that I would've done anything for you. And that's my fault because I never told you or showed you. I never told you how much I loved you or how much you meant to me,"Nick choked as his blue eyes clouded with unfallen tears.
"Don't,"Christine whispered and looked away as the tears fell rapidly down her cheeks.
Nick didn't listen. He had so many emotions welled up inside him and he needed to get them out,"I took advantage of the best thing in my life. I didn't want to fall in love with you Christine. I really didn't but somewhere along the way I did. When I met you I wasn't looking for love. I wasn't looking for a relationship but something about you made me keep coming back for more. I tried my hardest to make what we had not seem like a relationship because I was scared Chrissy. You're one of a kind Christine and I was stupid. I was so stupid."
"Stop it please Nick stop!"Christine cried. "You hurt me so bad. I've always loved you and I thought you knew. I thought you knew that I woke up everyday of my life for you and I thought you knew that without you I wouldn't have a reason to live. For some STUPID reason I fell in love with you Nick Carter. And at the same time I hated you because you would kiss me so tenderly and with so much passion and then go kiss someone else the same way. And it wasn't just one person Nick. It was so many."
Her voice was filled with so much sadness and pain and it killed Nick inside. It was all his fault and he would never forgive himself for causing all the pain and bitterness and hurt that she had. He was so stupid to let the best thing in his life go,"You were the only one that meant anything to me Chris."
"Shame on me for believing the sweet things you would tell me and whisper in my ear. Everything was all a lie. You led me on,"Christine sobbed, looking down at the soft sand. Her vision was blurred and so was her mind. She couldn't think straight with him sitting next to her confessing his soul. Why was he telling her all of this now? It was too late for them. Christine wouldn't be able to trust him with her heart ever again. She did that once and he broke it.
It was silent again except for the sound of the crashing waves and Christine's soft sobs. Nick spoke up a minute later in a hushed tone,"Remember when I last took you here? God we had so much fun. I had the hardest time trying to get you in the water. You kept saying to was too cold. But when I finally got you in we had the best time. We stayed there all day and when it was time to leave I couldn't get you off the beach."
Christine remembered that day all too well. It was one of the best days of her life. Probably because she was with him. Christine wanted to smile but she couldn't.
Nick spoke up again,"I miss you so much."
"I don't have the strength to go through it all again Nick. It took everything out of me the first time,"she replied tiredly.
"Chris please-I love you so much,"Nick begged touching her arm gently. She pulled back instantly. His touch always did the same thing to her. It sent chills down her spine. He looked hurt and turned away.
Her expression seemed to soften and she put her petite hands on the sides of his face and turned him to face her,"Nick, please put yourself in my place. How would you feel if I did what you did?"
"It would kill me,"he said softly.
"Right,"she whispered. "Please just try to understand. I have to leave Nick." She dropped her hands and stood up. She blew him a kiss. It took every once of strength she had in her just to say her next words to him. "Goodbye Nicky. Don't forget me ok? I know I won't ever forget you." And with that she turned and walked slowly down the beach. Nick watched as her dark hair trailed behind her and her thin hips swayed as she walked. Tears filled his eyes and this time they escaped. He never cried and that's when he realized that he couldn't let the only person worth crying over leave him. The only one who could make him cry was leaving him. There would be no more waking up to her exquisite face. No more seeing the smile that could light up a room. No more kissing her sweet lips. He couldn't let her go. Nick shot up from the sand and took off down the beach. Determination filled him. He needed her back.
"CHRISTINE!"he yelled, tears falling down his face. "CHRISTINE! I LOVE YOU!!"
He finally caught up and hung on to her thin arm. She turned around and he could see that she was still crying too.
"Why are you doing this to me Nick? Why?"she cried out.
"Because I love you and I'm not going to let the best thing in my life leave,"he said wiping away freshly fallen tears.
She shook her head,"No Nick. The best thing in your life has always been your music."
"No, this will all fade someday. I want someone who will be there for me through that. I want someone I can grow old with and have kids with and buy a house by the ocean with. I can see that happening with you Chris. I can see us going through all those things and more. And that's the best thing in my life. Fame fades but love is forever."
Tears still coursed down her cheeks but a slight smile took over her plump lips. But as quickly as it came it faded,"How do I know that this isn't just another lie?"
"Because it was never a lie with you. What we had was real. We were real, I was just too stupid to see it,"he whispered, touching her cheek with his thumb, wiping away the fresh tears.
"How do I know I won't get hurt again Nick?"she asked him. Her eyes penetrated deeply into his.
"Because this time,"he began softly and then took her tiny hand and placed it over his heart and covered it with his,"I'm giving you this."
Christine broke down hysterically crying and Nick pulled her into a tight, comforting hug.
"I love you so much Nick but I'm just so scared,"she cried into his chest.
"Me too,"he whispered back. "I've never given anyone my heart before."
"But how do I know that this is real? How do I know that we're real?"she said.
"Because I'm still here,"he replied softly and a single tear escaped his sky blue eye.
"God I love you,"Christine choked and put a hand on both sides of his face.
"I love you so much,"he said, squeezing his eyes shut to hold back the tears.
"Nick look at me,"Christine said.
Nick opened his eyes to find Christine's sweet face about an inch from his face. They stared at one another and then they kissed softly. It was a tender kiss. It wasn't urgent or hurried. Just sweet and passionate. It seemed like time stood still just for the couple as they stood on the beach in eachother's embrace.
"Make love to me Nick,"Christine said running her fingers over his cheek.
Nick was surprised,"Right here? Now?"
"Yes,"she nodded. Nick kissed her again deeper this time and his hands traveled down her sides.
"Are you sure?"he said her as they broke apart.
"I've never been more sure,"she replied and kissed his lips. Nick's fingers found the hem of her sweatshirt and pulled it over her head. Christine immediately shivered from the wind on her bare skin and Nick pulled her close. He pulled off his own shirt and layed it down on the sand. He did the same for his pants. Carefully, he layed Christine down on his clothes. His lips met hers once more as he caressed her soft skin.
"I love you,"he murmured, brushing her hair away from her face lovingly and then planted tiny butterfly kisses on her neck.
"I love you too,"she said quietly as she ran her fingers through his short, spikey hair. His fingers ran gently over her breasts and he kissed her forehead. Nick tenderly slid her short khaki shorts off of her long, tanned legs to reveal a pair of simple navy blue bikini underwear. Nick smiled and his fingers traced random patterns over her beautiful body. Christine's lips caressed Nick's as she tugged at his cotton boxers. Nick slid them off of himself and Christine broke the kiss. Her green eyes lingered over Nick's body and he self consiously blushed and looked away.
"Nick you're amazing,"she breathed. "Don't be embarrassed."
"I'm not amazing. You are,"he whispered and undid the front clasp of her bra and slid it off of her shoulders carefully. Then he slowly took off her panties.
"You are so beautiful,"he smiled and ran his fingers over her bare, full breasts. He couldn't believe that this amazing women had forgiven him for all that he put her through. He knew that someone like her only came around once in a lifetime and he wasn't planning on losing her a second time.
"Please Nick...now,"she urged gently.
He nodded and positioned himself over her. His eyes locked with hers as he slid inside of her slowly. Tears of joy filled Christine's eyes. She had never experienced anything like this before. Christine firmly believed that making love was a totally different experience when it's with the person you're going to spend the rest of your life with then with someone else. It was a different feeling and there was nothing in the world quite like it. At that moment, she knew that he was the one.
"Oh god, Chris I love you baby,"Nick groaned as he entered her fully and began thrusting in and out at a calm pace, determined to make it last as long as it could.
"I love you too,"Christine gasped, meeting his trusts as she wrapped her slim legs around his waist. Nick buried his head in the crook of her neck and one hand went down to rub her clit. He kissed her neck as she weaved her fingers through his hair.
By this time, the sky was dark and dotted with sparkling stars that smiled down at the two lovers. The wind had calmed down, and the the sound of the young couple's light moans mixed with the sound of the soft crashing of the waves deep out in the ocean and echoed in the air at the beach that night.
"This...never felt so right,"Nick managed to get out as he thrusted harder into her.
"Oh god, I know...ohh,"Christine cried out as passion and pleasure overtook her body. She knew that this was right.
Their love making seemed to go on for days and they were in their own world, solely focused on one another and nothing else. Nothing else mattered at that moment.
Together they climaxed and never had anything felt so wonderful. The two were in an oblivion as they stared into eachother's eyes as they calmed down. Their sweaty bodies were pressed tightly together and their breathing was heavy. Nick bent his head down and kissed her awaiting lips lightly. For a while no words were spoken because they weren't needed. Their silence could speak an ocean of words.
"We are so right together,"he whispered finally and layed his head on her chest.
"Yeah...we are,"she agreed stroking his head. "We really are."
"I love you."
"I love you too."
That night on the beach, Christine learned to open up her heart and trust him again, and in return, Nick gave her his heart completely to keep forever.
