Jessica Donovan groaned as the loud, irritating ring of the phone woke her out of her deep sleep. Snuggling into her boyfriend's warm body, she nudged his shoulder with her hand. She mumbled sleepily to him, pressing her body against his closely,"Nick answer the phone."
"Hmaseph,"came a low, barely audible reply from the sleeping blond next to her.
Jessica moaned in annoyance and crawled over his body to get to the ringing phone. Nick, who slept like a log through the whole thing, didn't even stir when his girlfriend climbed over him. She pushed her thick brown hair away from her eyes and grabbed the pain-in-the-ass phone that had woken her up,"Yeah?"
"This is your morning wake up call..." That was all Jessica heard before she put the phone down and got off of Nick. Jessica knew the hotel wake up calls very well. She'd been hearing them every morning for the last few months. And everyday it was the same irritating routine with Nick. She looked at the man who was the love of her life and the one she'd been through so much with. Jessica smiled slightly. His blond hair was a wild mess and his mouth was slightly open.
"Nick, wake up. Nicky..."Jessica gently shook Nick's naked shoulder. Another incoherant mumble was heard from him. She rolled her eyes. He was absolutely impossible in the mornings.
"Huh? Nick come on, it's time to get up,"Jessica said, shaking him harder.
"Go away..."Nick whined, wiggling away from her shaking which was getting more persistant by the second.
"You know you have to get up,"Jessica said, sitting straight up in bed, pulling a sheet over her bare chest.
"No,"Nick replied, shaking his head quickly and clenching his eyes shut tightly.
"Yes,"Jessica argued playfully and ran her fingers through his messy blond hair. Nick groaned and turned on his side, swatting at her hand.
Jessica laughed and climbed halfway on top of him. Nick's eyes popped open,"Are you happy now? I'm up."
Jessica planted a short kiss on his pouting mouth,"Stop your complaining."
"I'm not complainin,"Nick insisted, laying on his back, pulling her completely on top of him. "Do we have time to mess around?"
Jessica leaned down and pressed her forehead against his for a second as his arms wrapped tightly around her naked body,"Don't think so. Besides didn't we do enough of that last night."
"Never,"Nick said slyly with a smirk, raising his eyebrows up and down once, getting a laugh out of Jessica. His voice got husky and he got serious, "Come on Jess, I want you. Really quick..."
Jessica looked at the clock and groaned. The big red numbers told her that there wouldn't be enough time and she said regretfully,"We can't."
"We can be a little late, the bus ain't gonna leave without us,"Nick insisted, capturing her lips with his. Jessica was lost in his kisses as the phone on the nightstand rang.
"Don't answer it,"Nick instructed inbetween his feverish kisses.
"We gotta,"Jessica replied, pulling away and rolling off of his body. She reached over and grabbed the phone,"Hello?"
"Hey Jess, tell your boy to get his lazy ass outta bed,"Kevin instructed.
"Yeah, yeah it's not as easy as it sounds. Hey, I'm surprised YOU'RE up Kev. Usually we need the jaws of life to tear you out of bed,"Jessica said with a slight smile.
"Ha, funny Jess,"Kevin said dryly. "I just called to say get up because I was sure y'all slept through the wakeup call."
"Actually, I got the call,"Jessica informed him.
"Good,"Kevin said. "Alright. I gotta go. Make sure he gets up."
"He's up Kevin. Relax,"Jessica said with a roll of her bright blue eyes.
"Ok, ok. Bye Jess."
"Cya."
She set down the phone and turned to meet Nick's sleepy eyes.
"The boss says get your ass outta bed,"Jessica told him.
"Kevin's freakin annoying,"Nick mumbled, turning on his side, propping his head up with his hand.
"This tour's been way too long. Everyone's starting to get irritable,"Jessica said.
"Starting? Oh I think we're way passed that,"Nick replied, lying back down on the king-sized bed.
"Yeah, probably,"Jessica agreed. "Hey don't get too comfy babe. We gotta get up." Suddenly the phone rang again. Nick and Jessica both groaned.
"You get it this time. Who do you think it is...Brian or Howie? I'm going for Howie,"Jessica said.
"Brian,"Nick replied. "Wanna place bets? I got five bucks on Brian."
"Just answer the phone Nick,"Jessica replied with a small laugh.
Nick picked up the phone,"What's up?"
"Hey Nicky, just calling to make sure you're up,"Howie's cheerful voice said into the phone.
"Hi, D,"Nick grumbled,"Why is everyone callin to make sure I'm freakin up?? I'm up ok? So call Brian and AJ and tell them not to call here because I'M UP." They were used to this routine by now. Every morning it was the same. Someone would call Nick multiple times to make sure he was up. They knew what kind of a sleeper he was.
"Woo hoo, you woulda been outta five bucks Carter,"Jessica grinned satisfied that she was right, planting a kiss on his flushed cheek.
Nick couldn't resist and sent a smile her way while Howie lectured into the phone. He wasn't really listening and found Jessica much more interesting. Nick grabbed a hold of her thin arm, pulling her to him lovingly. His free hand traveled the length of her body slowly. Jessica's eyes fluttered closed as Nick caressed her softly.
"...which is why we call you in the mornings. We don't want a repeat of a few weeks ago. Ok? Are you still there Nick?"
"Yeah, yeah I gotta go Howie,"Nick said and put the phone down, scooping Jessica up in arms. She giggled softly as Nick planted playful kisses on her neck.
"Ok, ok, we gotta get ready,"Jessica smiled, pulling away from him.
"I wish we could lay here all day,"Nick said regretfully.
"Me too but we can't,"Jessica said, running the back of her hand down his cheek.
"I know,"Nick sighed. "Go take your shower first then I'll get up."
"Don't be difficult Nick. I know if I go take a shower first you'll go back to sleep,"Jessica said.
"What makes you think I'll do that,"Nick grinned.
"Hello?? It happened the other day!"Jessica reminded him, the sheet that was covering her bare breast falling down. Nick's eyes traveled to the newly exposed flesh.
"Not with that image in my mind I won't,"Nick replied with an impish grin.
"So what do you think we should do Nick?"Jessica asking, ignoring his comment.
A slow grin crept on his face and he opened his mouth to say something. Jessica quickly cut him off,"Nevermind, I know what you're thinking. I'll go first and if you fall asleep I'll call Kevin in here to wake you up."
"I think that classifies under cruel and unusual punishment,"Nick replied with a pout.
"Yeah so don't fall asleep,"Jessica warned.
"Why can't we take one together?"Nick tried with a smile.
"We'd never get anything done if we went in there together,"Jessica said, getting out of bed. Nick's eyes followed her every move. Jessica was truly, naturally beautiful. She had a petite 5'7 frame complete with a gorgeous face. That's not why Nick loved her though. He had to admitt that it was one of the first things that attracted him to her when he first met her many years ago, but that's not why he fell in love with her. Jessica was unlike the other girls he'd ever known. She was confident without being cocky. She had a great sense of humor and she loved to laugh. She was strong and determined and focused with a passion for life that Nick admired. Jessica was also caring and one of the best friend's he'd ever had. That's why he fell in love with her, her beauty was just secondary.
"Jess?"
"Yeah Nick?"

Jessica smiled at him and then laughed,"I love you too. That just came out of nowhere though."
"I haven't told you today and I just felt like telling you,"Nick said.
"I'm glad you did Nicky,"Jessica said, placing a light kiss on his full lips. Jessica was also one of the few people that got away with calling him Nicky. For some reason he liked her calling him that. It was kind of comforting in a way.
"So how bout that shower together?"Nick suggested hopefully.
"Ok, ok fine what the hell,"Jessica replied, grabbing his hands, pulling him off the bed. Nick wrapped his tanned arms around her naked body and kissed her neck affectionately.
Together they headed to the large bathroom.
