Breakfast at the Gryffindor Table

Sitting on the Gryffindor table (front to back):
Left: Hermione, Harry, Oliver Wood (Sean Biggerstaff), Percy Weasley (Chris Rankin), unknown blonde boy
Right: Ron Weasley, Fred & George Weasley (James & Oliver Phelps)

Here's the new teaser poster. awesome, huh? I really like the coloring... It gives me hope that the movie won't be the hokey-pokey full house episode I'm afraid of.

Here is where the first years are learning to fly on brooms. Of course, Harry's is the only one that actually comes to him. You can see Hermione, in the right corner, unsuccessfully trying to get her broom to come.

Ummm... I'm not positive where this is in the book... but I think it is either the first feast, or the halloween feast, when Dumbledore toasts/welcomes the students.

Here is where Hermione is the first one in the class to successfully levitate a feather.

I think that this is an overhead view of where madame hooch is teaching the students to fly.

This is the scene where all of the letters came rushing down the chimney and Harry struggles to catch one. Whenever I read this part of the book I always wonder why Harry doesn't pick one up from the ground... Oh well... It worked out in the end.

Here we see Dudley, Uncle Vernon, and Aunt Petunia looking through the mail. From the looks on their faces I'd guess they've just received a certain letter addressed to "Mr. H. Potter, The Cupboard under the Stairs, 4 Privet Drive, Little Whinging, Surrey."

This photo shows a group of Hogwarts students gathered around Harry, Ron, and Hermione. This scene appears to be from the sequence in the book where Harry gets in trouble for going up on his broom after Draco Malfoy.  Hermione looks ticked, and the wind swept look is a nice touch for this scene.  Is that Draco Malfoy visible between Harry and Ron?

Here we have Professor McGonagall, Hogwarts School's Deputy Headmistress, presiding over "the Sorting," the ceremony in which new Hogwarts students are placed into their respective "houses." They're "sorted" by an enchanted hat called "the Sorting Hat" that we see here placed on the head of Hermione. In the background you'll see some of the Hogwarts faculty, most notably Albus Dumbledore at the right. Off to the left behind McGonagall you can see another group of professors. It looks like that's Ian Hart as Professor Quirrel (I think that's his turban wrapped around his head), then I'm not sure who the teacher is in the corner, but I'm guessing the one on the far left of the frame is Rickman's Professor Snape. I can't wait to see him in action. I might also add that the costumes work really great. I wondered if they'd come across as silly looking on screen, but the witch's hat works exceptionally well here, and Dumbledore's wizard hat looks really cool too. Great costume work.

Finally, here's a picture of Ron and Harry in the halls of Hogwarts. Harry looks like he means business, and Ron is either surprised, or he's got some indigestion from all that magical food at the feast.

This is Gloucester Cathedral, chosen to be Hogwarts Castle. It's very impressive to look at, seems like a good choice.

New!
