The Wonderful World Of Winter
Garnett Ann Schultz
The wonderful world of winter Brought a magic to lighten my heart, In the beautiful white of the dawning With the joys only winter imparts. Every tree decked out in full glory In a heavenly mantle of white, Like a precious and wonderful story Filled my mind with a glowing delight.
As far as I looked in the distance There was naught but a world shining fair, And I knew that the bright cold of winter Would keep the day sparkling and fair. Not a footprint to mar all the beauty The pathway had long drifted in With a mountain of snow ever growing Where a roadway had recently been.
The wonderful world of winter Held the laughter of children at play, Their little eyes bright with excitement On this heavenly beautiful day. The hills came alive with their chatter, The snow seemed to add to their charms, While winter in all of its splendor Held the world snug and safe in its arms.
Oh, give me the bright world of winter To keep in my heart evermore, With the snowflakes that sparkle and glisten To bring winter's dreams to my door. My heart holds this thrill beyond measure, My mind knows a joy real and sweet, While the wonderful bright world of winter Makes my hopes and my dreams more complete.
