I remember caroling as a child,
The wintry weather was far from mild,
A nip in the air and the wind does bite,
But it kept us singing on with all our might.

Walking from place to place to sing,
Each time lots of smiles we'd bring,
One after another faces aglow,
As the words just seemed to flow.

Then it's off to another house,
It was far from being as quiet as a mouse,
So much joy and glee in the air,
No one seems, this night, to have a care.

Afterwards it's back to the hall,
We've been out and had a ball,
It's hot cocoa for all young and old,
To shed off that night of cold.

The evening's left us so full of joy,
To know we made glad each girl and boy,
Each lady and man listening to each song,
Now tucked up warm feelings where they belong.
