Special Edition 8 - Christmas Past, Present & Future

Author’s Note: Ok guys! This Special Edition is sort of like the last one I wrote for Thanksgiving. That one was Lucky’s sort of ‘anxiety’ dream…and this is Elizabeth’s. So, since it’s a dream it’s kind of convoluted and wonky…I hope you can follow it, and hope you enjoy it!

Merry Christmas!!!

Port Charles, New York
Apt. #915 Scarlet Road

Elizabeth moaned and mumbled something she had no idea she could even think of, let alone say as he eased her legs up near her chest, filling her with expert precision. Making her cry out even when she’d promised to stay quiet.

The windows fogged far beyond any point of visibility. She could see nothing accept the color of his eyes as he moved within her. And it was the only thing she wanted to see…forever.

"You’re not keeping your promise," Lucky grinned, hissing through his teeth as he pulled back, only to plunge deeper. She dug her fingertips into his wet shoulders and did the same.

"That’s…that’s because you’re making it impossible to…oh God…"

"They’re all gonna come out here in a minute," Lucky grunted. Digging his fingers into the leather seat beneath her. "Your gram…your sister…Good ol’ Doctor and Mrs. Webber…they’re all gonna come out here…thinking I’m killing you or something."

"What?" Elizabeth questioned. Thinking she must have been hallucinating. With as good as this felt, it was entirely possible. Slowing her movements, she squeezed his biceps. "Who?"

"Your family Elizabeth," Lucky sighed absently. Leaning down to lick the small spot on her neck that drove her wild.

Her eyes nearly rolled backward into her head, but she spoke through his merciless gesture anyway. "They’re here? In our new house? Why? Lucky I don’t want them here."

"Elizabeth…what house?…We’re outside of your Gram’s house remember?…In our car. It’s Christmas remember? I can’t exactly…tell them all to go home.

"But making love in the backseat of our car, is a nice enough substitution for now isn’t it?" he asked with a smile. His body sliding against hers.

For reasons unbeknownst to her, her bottom lip began to tremble. "Lucky I don’t want them here. This is our house…they don’t belong here. They can’t just come in here and -

He moved closer. Easing his fingertips through hers when he removed her hands from his arms, and began kissing her face. Interrupting her every word and thought. His lips administered to her chin, her cheeks, that quivering bottom lip…

"Hey, think of it this way…at least they’re taking care of the kids while we take care of…us."

"R – right," she whimpered as the end neared. No longer concerned with her family, as the intensity began to build. As every muscle in her body begin to tighten with incredible force. "Oh God…I f – feel like we haven’t…haven’t done this in so…

"Three years and 9 months," Lucky filled in, picking up the pace. Elizabeth gasped aloud. Half in surprise, half due to the intensity of his movements.

"Wh – no…it can’t have been that…that long Lucky. We’d never go that long without…you’re kidding me right?"

"It has," Lucky put in quickly, shaking his head. It was sad indeed. "The last time was before the triplets were born."

Oh God! Had it really been that long since they’d made love? Had sex in the backseat of their car? Oh God! Her poor lonely Mercury!

"Oh God!" Elizabeth cried out. Coming as Lucky began to explode inside of her. She couldn’t even remember the last time she’d felt this exquisite. This….ugh! That’s right – it had been 3 years…9 months.

Dear God…

She nearly growled as her body hit the peak of ecstasy but just as quickly descended from it. She wanted the sensation to last forever, but it was so quick. So fleeting…why was it already leaving her –

Why the Hell was he already getting up?

"Ok…come on," Lucky said quickly. Pulling away from her. Already searching for his pants in the small confines of the classic old car.

Elizabeth willed her muscles to do something more than just lie there sated on the leather cushioning beneath her. "Wh…where are we going? We’re not done yet are we? Lucky," she pleaded. Tugging at his perfect shoulders. "We’re just getting started…Honey, I want you…"

"Nope…Elizabeth come on. You know we can’t stay out this late…There’s the curfew to think about."

"What?"

Blinking rapidly she watched as he buttoned his shirt. His funky thumbs amazingly nimble with the task. Next he was handing her the pale green twin set that she’d apparently worn. But…no, it was so old. When was the last time she’d worn this? It’d been years hadn’t it?

"Lucky, I don’t understand this. We don’t have a curfew. We’re married for God’s sake…we’ve got children -

"Elizabeth," Lucky sighed. As if suddenly annoyed. "That doesn’t mean that people aren’t still waiting for us…counting on us…Now come on. I don’t want your gram upset with me again. Remember the last time?"

No she didn’t remember the last time! The last time was when they were teenagers! This was crazy! She was a grown woman! She didn’t have to report to anyone or be home by a certain time! If she wanted to have sex with her husband in the backseat of his car than so be it!

His words broke through her thoughts.

"Elizabeth, hurry."

"Ok, ok…" she grumbled. Cursing under her breath as she threw on her stupid green tank top and sweater. Pulling on her pants next. "Merry Christmas to me," she continued through grit teeth.

In the very next instant, before her shoes were even all the way on, they were jumping out the car and taking off towards the porch. Sneaking very slowly through the front door. But low and Behold…of course - Gram stood right there in her robe…waiting.

What the Hell…

Elizabeth sighed and dropped her mittens on her grandmother’s chair. Huffing when she turned around to face the woman’s silently brewing wrath.

A sense of déjà vu settled over her and she became even more aggravated than she had been a moment before. Here she was – completely out of breath…and now she was going to have to explain herself to this woman? She wasn’t 15 anymore! She didn’t have to answer to anyone!

Urgently, she glanced at Lucky for an answer. But he stood there silent and suddenly very pious. The picture of the perfect, polite boyfriend…the kind that’d be mortified if his girlfriends’ grandmother knew what they’d just been doing outside.

Biting her tongue, she turned back to her Gram. Saying the words she’d heard herself say before…YEARS before.

"I’m only an hour late."

"More like 40 minutes," Lucky corrected quickly. Quickly trying to ease the already tense situation. "And we were on the porch for awhile."

Elizabeth shot him yet another glance. Narrowing her eyes. They hadn’t been on the porch! They’d been screwing in the backseat of a Mercury! Why was he lying?!

He was her husband! He had every right to -

Audrey’s voice interrupted Elizabeth silent stewing. "I specifically asked you to call if you thought you’d be later than you said…Now this is not the first time that you’ve ignored that request. Elizabeth if you are trying to tell me something why don’t we just get it out in the open so that we can talk about it directly?"

What? What?! WHY?! Talk about WHAT directly? That she’d rather have SEX with Lucky than to be cooped up in this house with the family from Hell?! What was there to explain about THAT?!

"I just didn’t realize the time alright?" Even as she heard the words come out of her own mouth she couldn’t believe it. Couldn’t believe she was reliving this moment in time so many Christmases ago. "And I don’t understand what you’re accusing me of."

WHY was she making excuses?! Why couldn’t she just tell the old bag the truth?! There was nothing to feel bad about or ashamed about. She’d been outside with her husband going at it like bunnies…

‘Hell, maybe I’ll say we were hunting for Gatsby and simply got a little distracted,’ Elizabeth thought disgustedly as Gram continued.

"I think that you are sending me a message that I have admittedly tried very hard not to grasp," Audrey sighed with a shake of her head. "That you intend to live by your own rules and pay no attention to mine."

"Gram that is not true."

‘Yes it is!’ Her brain corrected silently. ‘Yes it is! Why are you giving in?! You’re acting like a little kid! Don’t let her push you around! You’re a grown woman!’

"Nobody meant to blow you off Mrs. Hardy," Lucky broke in. "I mean we just lost track of time."

Elizabeth had to bite down hard on her tongue this time to keep from shouting at Lucky. To keep from throwing a tantrum! This was ridiculous! What they did in their own car, on their own time was THEIR business!

It was no wonder they hadn’t done the horizontal hokey pokey in so long! They had to deal with Lieutenant Gram of the Sex Police.

"Lucky please you are accountable to no one," Audrey allowed. "And it’s not place to approve or disapprove of that, so be it. But you see Elizabeth is an entirely different situation. Her parents entrusted her to my care."

Elizabeth threw her head back in frustration. Her parents!? Her PARENTS?! What the Hell did they have to do with any of this?! They wouldn’t care if she screwed the New York Yankees, just as long as they weren’t benchwarmers and getting the correct salary allotment.

"Are you KIDDING ME?!" She finally shouted. Unable to take the lies anymore – the restrictions on her time with her own husband. "How long are you going to use that excuse Gram?! I mean…isn’t it enough that Lucky and I have got three children together?! That we’ve got tap lessons, and swim lessons, and the friggin’ PTA to deal with? Isn’t it bad enough that you’re still living in our house?! Now I have to report to you as well?"

Audrey looked as if she’d been stricken, but then slowly…reverently she smiled. "Elizabeth dear, you’re still in MY house."

What?! What was all this crap about it being HER house?! It wasn’t! It wasn’t! They’d had their own home YEARS ago! And now…

She looked around. It WAS Gram’s house. Why the heck were they living at Grams…ugh…ugh…she was going to cry!

"Listen," Elizabeth began. Trying to calm her self down before she threw a major fit. "I don’t know what’s going on here. But it’s clear that you’re a little confused –

"No dear," Audrey corrected. "It’s you that is confused."

"I am not! I know exactly what’s going on! And –

"Ah Elizabeth," Lucky interrupted, as if considering. "Given the fact that I just screwed your brains out in the car…..you might actually be a tad confused."

Elizabeth’s mouth dropped open in shock, but Audrey simply shook her head with a grin. "Oh come now Lucky…everyone knows that the two of you don’t fuck anymore. That you haven’t in 3 years and 9 months…..there’s no need to fib about that."

She could have died right there on the spot. Had her grandmother just said…just said…what she thought she said?!

"Yes, I said the F-word dear, it’s ok…I like it. I think it’s highly descriptive…Anyway, I guess I’ve lectured you both enough for one day……Now," she finished. Turning to go upstairs. "You two make sure to turn these lights off when you decide to go to bed…Night-night."

Elizabeth watched her grandmother disappear up the steps and turned to Lucky with wide, pleading eyes. "Lucky, I want to go home…please, can we go home?"

Lucky smiled softly and neared her. "Sweetie, this IS our home…Don’t you remember?"

When she fell into the circle of his arms with a sigh, he kissed her. Softly, sweetly, tenderly…slowly until she forgot that they were at Grams. Until she forgot their day of hectic schedules, the fights with her parents and sister.

He kissed her until it was just them again. Just like the old days.

And when she finally opened her eyes, things WERE better! They WERE home! Obviously that had only been some sick joke – some stupid dream!…Oh, thank God.

Elizabeth stretched languidly on the bed she remembered buying for them, and smiled as Lucky came to lie down next to her.

Yes, things were back to normal. Back in their apartment on Scarlet Road in Port Charles. Maybe they’d order a pizza tonight…or order in from Ely’s…or maybe…maybe she’d just have HIM for dinner.

He looked good enough to eat.

"Wow…you look…to describe how you look would only cheapen the reality," he sighed. His eyes lingering from the top of the white negligee that she wore, to the bottom.

Grinning satisfactorily, Elizabeth eased towards him. Pushing him to his back as she straddled him. Her fingers drifted lazily from the top button of his shirt to the bottom. And when she got there, she bent to kiss the spot right above his zipper, and felt him suck in a breath beneath her lips.

‘Oh that’s right Lucky…you’re certainly about to earn that name…’

His fingers twined themselves in her hair, and she knew they’d both be in heaven soon. Panting with unbound need for one another. Just like it had always been.

He held her head in his hands as she tugged at his zipper with her teeth. Wanting to devour him whole as she eased it down over his hard denim clad member.

"What’s that?" His voice asked suddenly. Thick and raspy as her fingers slipped inside his fly.

Elizabeth looked up into his eyes without stopping. "What’s what?"

"That sound? In the living room…sounds like the kids are getting into the packages –

"Mmmm," Elizabeth moaned. Returning to the task at hand…literally. "The only package I want is right here."

Ignoring her words, Lucky tried to sit up. But she quickly pushed him back down. "Come on Elizabeth…I should probably go take them back to their room…you know how they’re always getting into stuff."

Elizabeth groaned and eased him out of his pants and shorts. Sighing suggestively. "You mean to tell me you never peaked at your Christmas presents a little early when you were a kid?"

"Of course not," Lucky answered quickly. Seemingly appalled by the mere notion, let alone the question. "Please tell me YOU didn’t do that Elizabeth."

Getting somewhat annoyed, she sat back on her haunches. The quicker they got this ‘conversation’ over with, the quicker they could get down to business. God, it’d been forever since she’d tasted him…

"Of course I did…What – you have a problem with that? A problem with our kids doing that?"

"No, I just…" Lucky shook his head. At a sudden loss for words. "I just can’t believe that you did that…it’s so…so dishonest."

She folded her arms across her chest and sat a little farther back on the bed. Disbelief etched across her face. When he actually rose from the bed, and pulled on his pants, the expression grew bigger.

What was happening here?!

"Well, I’ll go stop the kids before they wake up the whole house," Lucky sighed.

What the Hell…

"Lucky don’t go," she whispered. Tugging at his arm as she crawled to the edge of the bed. "Honey we haven’t made love in so long…it’s been 4 years and 9 months."

Lucky shrugged. "I know, but who’s fault is that Elizabeth? You’re the one who insisted on 7 kids – not me."

Her mouth dropped open. Her heart began to race. It couldn’t be true…it couldn’t.

"We do NOT have 7 kids!"

"Last time I did a head count there were indeed 7…sorry. I think maybe lack of sex is addling your brain...but, as always – the kids have to come first."

In shock, she pushed herself off of the bed, and followed Lucky towards the living room. It was empty aside from the tree and mountains upon mountains upon mountains of gifts. How had they afforded…

"Lucky where are the kids…"

"Guess they went to bed…or maybe Santa Claus took ‘em," Lucky shrugged with a smile.

Elizabeth’s brow creased. What a morbid little joke that was. She suddenly felt uneasy. Unsure…"Well, why don’t I go check on them," she suggested. Feeling him pull her back towards him before she even took a step.

"No honey, I’ll do it. You go back to bed…wait for me…I’ll be there in a sec…I want you – I want you bad."

She grinned and nodded. It’d been forever since he’d said anything like that!

Scampering back to bed with a hop, skip, and a jump. She was lying there waiting for him before she even realized she’d entered the bedroom again. But soon, a few seconds turned into minutes…and she was suddenly more tired than she ever remembered being…

~~~~~~~
"Mmmmm," Elizabeth moaned. Realizing what the sensation was before she even opened her eyes. How he sometimes woke her up by touching the best places imaginable. She shivered under his ministrations and forced her eyes open with a flutter.
"Good morning Elizabeth," Lucky grinned. Submerging him self beneath the covers when her eyelids began to flicker with recognition. At the first flick of his tongue, her eyelids did more than flicker.
Her eyes went wide as he began to lick her senseless. As her calves slid up and over his shoulders and she saw his head bob beneath the sheets.
"Ooohoooh….Lucky…"
In a few moments she’d be crying it felt so good. That’s how it always went on these lazy Saturday mornings when neither of them had to work, and there was no school for her to worry about either.
She must’ve fallen asleep before he’d gotten home from work the night before, because she hadn’t remembered him sliding in bed beside her. Hadn’t remembered him sliding inside of her.
And if she’d been awake, she most assuredly would have remembered such things. Making love with Lucky was not a thing a woman forgot.
But this was a beautiful way to make up for lost time…
She heard him mumble her name before his tongue decided to do something even more wicked. Easing inside her as his thumb performed other little tasks. "Ah…G - ….ah….Lu…Lucky…"
His name began tumbling from her mouth in a rapid succession of moans and whimpers as she started to come undone. Every thought that sleep had clouded, became clouded once more by insane levels of ecstasy.
Elizabeth cried out in a language that sounded foreign as he brought her to the breaking point. She vaguely heard him whispering, "sssh," even as his mouth busily performed other amazing feats.
When her hips bucked relentlessly against him and her every muscle was spent, she slowly came back to herself. Catching glimpses of him as he emerged with wild bed head from under the sheets.
Even as he fell to the side of her to catch his breath, he wouldn’t let up. His fingers brought her to an earth shattering orgasm once more.
"Sssh…sssh," he mumbled against her neck. Chuckling mischievously against her burning skin. "The kids are probably up by now…watching cartoons…"
Because multiple orgasms tended to make her thought processes impossible, she knew she’d heard him wrong. They didn’t have any kids. The only people that watched cartoons in their little apartment on Horatio Street were them.
In fact…if her brain was making any sense at all, it was almost time for the Little Mermaid. He would of course want to watch the Adventures of Pooh instead…just so he could see his beloved Tigger…but she’d win out in the end – she always did.
He couldn’t resist her…and vice versa.
Getting half of her brain back, she rolled towards him. Smothering him with a heated kiss and tasting herself on his tongue. "I want more," she murmured. Taking his plump bottom lip into her mouth and sucking. "I wanna come again…Make me come again Lucky…I wanna scream so loud that the neighbors come knocking."
Lucky grinned and eased one of her thighs over his hip. His palm slid up her bottom and towards her lower back. "I’m not worried about the neighbors…Just worried about our son stumbling in here again and asking if I’m killing Mommy."
Ok - Now she KNEW she’d heard him right!
Slowly she pulled away from him. Even as he readied himself to enter her.
"Wait…what’re you talking about? Lucky we don’t have any kids…a – a son?…Did you not get enough sleep last night?"
Lucky’s brow creased in confusion. "I did. Did YOU?…Maybe I should stop trying to get some and just let you go back to sleep for a little bit?"
Elizabeth’s eyes widened and she sat up in bed. "Lucky what are you talking about?! We don’t have any friggin kids!"
His mouth dropped open. "Well thank you very much….I guess we should tell all those kids in the other room to go home then, huh?"
"All those kids…" her voice trailed away in confusion. "Lucky I don’t understand…everyone keeps telling me that I have kids, but I….I don’t remember having them or…
"You don’t remember having 9 kids?" Lucky gasped as he interrupted. He slowly closed his eyes and then opened them. Shaking his head in disbelief. "What kind of woman have I married?"
"What?! We’re not married! We’re living here together in Greenwich remember?…In sin!"
Lucky shook his head once more. Dismay written all over his face. "I’d never do that. I have no idea what you’re talking about…Elizabeth our entire family is here. My parents, your parents, the kids…it’s Christmas for God’s sake and now you’re telling me that you don’t remember us," he sniffled a bit. Suddenly holding a tissue in his hands and dabbing at his eyes. "Oh…oh woe is me…"
What? What?
Elizabeth shook her head and eased her way towards the door. Maybe if she could peak outside – maybe if she could just see them with her own eyes, she’d know for sure. She’d remember giving birth to –
"If you have to look, to remember our beautiful children’s faces…than…than I don’t know what to say about you," Lucky sighed thickly. His voice riddled with emotion. "I can’t believe who you’ve become."
She shook her head with tearful eyes. "Lucky, I’m still me! I’m still the same Elizabeth Imogene Webber you’ve always loved! I just don’t recall having…nine?" She asked blankly. "Nine?"
Before her very eyes, Lucky began to cry from his place on the edge of her bed.
Quickly she went to him. Dropping to her knees in front of him. "I’m sorry…I’m sorry Lucky…I’ll have another if you like! I’ll have another and I’ll remember this one, I promise!"
He looked up into her eyes and sniffled. "You promise? You promise you’d remember this one?"
"I do," she said sincerely. Nodding vigorously.
"You’ll make another child with me? Right now?" He asked. Calmly…serenely…as if they made children every day of the week. As easy as making a cake.
Though something inside of her panicked, she nodded in the affirmative. Removing the old t-shirt that she wore as she climbed up next to him.
They were making love before she could even blink again. And he murmured sweet nothings in her ear as he filled her. Slowly building that excruciatingly wonderful ache between her thighs.
He told her that he loved her and questioned how long it had been since they’d been together this way. And once again she couldn’t remember. Why couldn’t she remember anything?
"Oh it’s been years," he groaned. Sighing against her neck as the sensations between them became so intense that he began to tear up. "Five years…9 months," he groaned.
She closed her eyes and tried to remember the last time. Hadn’t it been in a car or a…a hotel somewhere? Something in her mind told her that it had been, but then something else corrected her. Telling her no – telling her it had been long, long ago…
But how was that possible? They hadn’t even been having sex that long. Here they were living in Greenwich Village…What had it been 2 years? And their first time together had been here. How could it have been 5 years….Nothing made sense….
She couldn’t remember anything.
And as the motion of his hips built, she could barely remember her own name. It was only the fact that he whispered it with his every breath, that made her recall it.
"They’ll be beautiful," Elizabeth cried out. "I’ll give you beautiful, healthy children…I promise," she continued. Her voice thick and edgy as she neared the precipice of a promise fulfilled.
She felt his body start to strain as she clenched tightly around him. She felt him give the gift of his seed, as it was unleashed inside of her. As her body welcomed it and prepared to make a home for the life it gave.
Her body had been made for this. To be the shelter for his children. To make sure they were safe and…
She was crying when she came. Her breath hitching even as her hips did. And he was holding her, telling her it would all be all right. Mumbling the same sweet things that he had before as she fell hopelessly asleep. Deeper and deeper…
"DEEPER Lucky!" Elizabeth cried out. Gripping the bars of his bed with more force than the poor old antique could probably take. She saw the red mittens turned, stockings sway in front of her eyes as he followed her instructions. Surging deeper into her sweltering depths.
When his hand eased its way between her parted thighs, helping her along she fell backwards against him. Her hands and knees no longer enough to keep her balanced atop the rickety old bed.
Suddenly they were some where else…another familiar place…
His body propped hers up with all the strength he had left to give. One arm clenched tightly about her waist. The other pressed into the comforter as he leaned against her. Thrusting his hips slowly against hers from behind.
The numbers from his clock swam in front of her blurry eyes. Oh how would she explain this to Gram? That she’d been late for curfew simply because she was…they were…oh boy…
How had this even happened? She only remembered hanging their stockings…
She clutched the bedspread beneath her face and swallowed hard against the wonderful sensations that made her entire body quiver with excitement.
Was this the first time? No it couldn’t have been – wouldn’t have been. It felt like they’d done this before. It felt like they’d done it a million and one times but she couldn’t recall even once. Maybe it had just never been quite like this…
Maybe…
"I love you," Lucky groaned throatily. Letting his hands roam eagerly over her body as his chest hit her back. Her eyes crossed as he rubbed her incessantly.
"I…yes…me too…always," she groaned in return. "Yes…"
"We have to hurry," he panted breathlessly. "Nikolas and Em…they’ll be here soon…with the kids…"
He blanched as white as a sheet when she pulled away from him. Leaving him cold and lonely.
"Wh – wha…" she gasped. Trying to catch her breath. "What are you going to tell me?! That it’s been 6 – 6 years and 9 months since we’ve…since we’ve had sex?! That’s not my fault Lucky! You wanted the kids too! You wanted 10!"
Lucky’s forehead creased in confusion and he hurriedly pulled on his shorts. "Elizabeth what are you talking about? We don’t have any kids…and it’s maybe been…" He checked his watch. "An hour? Maybe? Since we’ve done this."
"But you just said…" Elizabeth shook her head. She was gonna cry again. "You just said they were bringing the kids over and –
"Yeah, Lu and Maxie, and Georgie.…We’re taking them with us to the GH Christmas party."
Elizabeth flopped down on the bed and sighed. What was going on?
She was getting absolutely nowhere in this dream. And it HAD to be a dream. If it wasn’t a dream, then reality was really sucking! She couldn’t seem to remember anything. Couldn’t seem to hold on to anything for any length of time.
She sighed aloud as he came to lie next to her. "Lucky where we do we live?"
He laughed a little and gently brushed a finger along her cheek. "What do you mean Sweetie?"
"I mean…I feel like every single time I open my eyes we’re somewhere else. If I go to sleep, and then wake up will be at that stupid mansion?"
"Elizabeth we’ll be wherever you want us to be…it’s your dream."
Elizabeth bit her bottom lip. If it was her dream why were things so strange? All she truly wanted was to be with him, and her babies…and to actually SEE them…why was that so hard?
"Can we sleep now?" She asked softly. Her eyelids growing very heavy from a night of stops and starts. "Do we have time? Before Nikolas and Emily get here?"
Lucky nodded softly and pulled her towards him. "We’ve got all the time in the world Honey."
And something in his voice allowed her to believe it. Slowly, she snuggled against his chest and wrapped her arms around his waist. She just wanted to be here. That was all…
Slowly, the deep fatigue she felt curled its way around her and pulled her beneath its spell. When she woke up, however…she was in the very same position.
In a different place of course, as she’d expected upon closing her eyes…but still in his arms.
The painted furnishings on the walls surrounding them gave her almost a much comfort as his arms did. She loved this place. She felt warm in this place. Warm and safe…
It had been the safest place she’d ever known. And obviously it still was…
She felt his heart beat beneath her ear and slowly she let her hand drift over his chest. "Are we the only one’s here Lucky."
Even before he answered she knew that they were.
His lips pressed against the top of her head. "Only us Sweetie…this is just ours…just for us."
Elizabeth was so happy to hear it she nearly started to cry…again.
"It’s all I ever want you know…something that’s just ours," she whispered. "Promise me Lucky…I know this isn’t real, and that I’m going to wake up…but promise me Lucky that someday we’ll have this again…even when our children come…promise me that we’ll be safe and no one will mess that up. Not my family or that ma –
"No one," he whispered. Turning to her. He rolled them both to their sides and kissed her deeply, completely. "No one comes between us ever again."
"Promise me that we’ll find time to be together…to make love…" she whispered. He closed her mouth with a kiss once more.
"I promise that we’ll make love forever…starting now," he finished quietly. Letting his mouth journey slowly to her smooth neck.
"Promise that I’ll remember them," she sighed as he fulfilled her every need with his body. "Promise I’ll remember all of them and all of their names, and everything that’s special about them…and promise that I’ll never treat them like they’re one person…and promise that you won’t let me be a bad mother, and promise –
"You’ll be the best mother EVER," he said soberly. Looking up into her eyes.
"But why haven’t I seen them Lucky…it’s my dream and I want to see them," she whimpered.
He kissed her eyelids and stilled the slow caress of her body. "It’s a surprise. You haven’t seen them yet – because the first time you do will be so magical and…so beautiful…that you wouldn’t want to spoil it…it’ll be just like a Christmas present. "
"The best present ever…" she sighed with tears in her eyes. "But you promise?" She asked. Still pleading with him. "You promise I’ll see them?"
"You’ll see them and hold them, and take care of them FOREVER," he assured her. "They’re yours – they’re ours," he whispered. Placing his hand on her abdomen. "Don’t worry about anything my Sweetgirl."
Sweetgirl…
She closed her eyes and let him take the worry away with every slow, deliberate stroke of her skin, every movement inside her body when he finally entered her. Claiming her as his one and only true love. His body strummed hers like he had the guitar that he’d first played there for her. It was almost as if she could here it now.
Hear him singing her name as he touched her. Willing her to wake up and welcome the life that awaited them. To not be scared or frightened, but to simply embrace the future.
She knew it…she could feel his presence…and the subtle sensation of knowing that your children grew inside of you….She knew it…
And she willed herself to wake up…
